Phaedra Parks Reveals Why She Joined Married to Medicine Over Real Housewives of Dubai

No Bravolebrity has hopped across shows the way Phaedra Parks has. She got her start on The Real Housewives of Atlanta. Then, she made a cameo on The Real Housewives of Dubai. She’s filmed two seasons of Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip. Now, she’s settling into a new full-time spot on Married to Medicine.

After getting a glimpse of Phaedra in Dubai, most of us just assumed she was getting ready to permanently trade in her peach for the city of gold. Phaedra joining the M2M ladies was not on anybody’s radar. With the Season 10 premiere of Married to Medicine right around the corner, Phaedra sat down with Page Six and explained just how she ended up here.

Phaedra can’t quit Atlanta

Phaedra appeared on Page Six’s Virtual Reali-Tea podcast and revealed that the main reason she didn’t permanently join the Dubai ladies was because she just wasn’t ready to leave Atlanta. Despite a friendship with Caroline Brooks and “business dealings” in Dubai, Phaedra explained that it’s just too much of a different world. Phaedra explained that it made more sense logistically for her to join another Atlanta show over RHODubai.

“I love that cast. I’ve got great friends over there, and I mean, I think it has the potential to be a great show,” Phaedra said of the Real Housewives of Dubai. But ultimately, she shared that she has to think of what’s best for her sons, the Prince and Mr. President.

“But at the end of the day, of course, my roots are always going to be in Atlanta,” she explained. “And I’ve got two wonderful sons who are in school here.”

Allegedly, the Married to Medicine cast was practically begging Phaedra to join their show, and she’s happy to be back on Bravo in a full-time capacity. It’s doubtful that the RHODubai ladies had that same energy. And although Phaedra isn’t going to move to the Middle East, she’s not ruling out another cameo in the future.

“I love the ladies of Dubai and I’m sure you will still see me over there from time to time, but Atlanta’s definitely home,” she told the outlet.

Phaedra makes her Married to Medicine debut when Season 10 premieres on Bravo on November 5 at 9/8c.
