BravoCon 2023 was a great opportunity to catch up with some great Bravoleb alums. Former Below Deck chief stew extraordinaire Kate Chastain included.
Since leaving the hit reality TV show, the Florida resident co-hosts Couch Talk With Captain Lee and Kate. Kate also starred in Season 1 of The Traitors. In her personal life, Kate welcomed her first child in May 2023. Motherhood suits her, and she often posts updates on her son, Sullivan Cay.
And while at BravoCon, Kate was asked if she was planning to expand her brood. The former chief stew responded to the contrary.
Kate thinks Sullivan “takes after” her
Kate exclusively told People that she’s “not sure a second child is in the future.”
“I’m one and done,” she added.
Perhaps this was a recent decision. Kate admitted that Sullivan is “finally getting a personality” and that had a direct influence on her desire to expand her little family.
“Oh, I’m in big trouble with Sullivan,” she explained. “He’s got a lot of personality and I’m pretty sure he takes after me in the personality department — which, if that’s the case… Karma is coming for me!”
It’s a great admission. And perhaps Sullivan will have his mother’s wit and comedic timing as well.
“But I love Sullivan so much,” she gushed. “He’s doing great. He’s back in Florida. Safe, healthy, and happy!”
Kate’s little family is finally a cohesive unit. Her dog, Halo, took time to accept Sullivan after he was born.
“He has finally come around to Sullivan. Halo has gone through all the stages of grief: denial, anger, bargaining, depression, acceptance — we’re there! We’ve finally made it to the last stage! And we’re good now,” she explained.
It’s quite adorable to browse Kate’s Instagram account for the Sullivan content. In a recent video, the mother-son duo went out to enjoy the weather in Florida.
