When Bravo chose to reboot Real Housewives of New York, they promised longtime stalwart fans that the franchise would get a proper sendoff. And though the new RHONY was quite the success, Bravo still settled on a last goodbye to the old New York.
That goodbye came in the form of Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip: RHONY Legacy. The trip would feature legends of RHONY’s past, including Kelly Killoren Bensimon, Dorinda Medley, and Kristen Taekman, just to name a few.
Of course, as with many Bravo projects, controversy hit RHONY Legacy. In the wake of the reality reckoning, Ramona Singer faced accusations of on-set racism against a producer, and the use of the N-word. So, it was no wonder when Sonja Morgan began hitting the promotional run to keep interest up.
Sonja warns fans to “expect the unexpected”
Sonja appeared on The Morning Show to discuss the upcoming RHONY Legacy. When asked what fans could expect for the Girls Trip, Sonja said, “Well, expect the unexpected really, because us girls are getting back together. We hadn’t seen Kelly [Killoren] Bensimon, Dorinda [Medley], and Kristen [Taekman] for a while on camera together.”
She explained that the time apart from the cameras created unexpected dynamics between the cast members. “I think we’ve all evolved in so many ways. Things have changed quite a bit.” As for the location, St. Barts, she highlighted the fact that the cast had been there before. However, she iterated that it was no “Scary Island.”
She also mentioned how it was “easy to get lucky” in St. Barts, among other exciting features of the location, such as the old “pirate house.” She further highlighted some of St. Bart’s qualities— “French, Caribbean, great food, great shopping, [and] great guys.”
Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip: RHONY Legacy will stream on Peacock starting December 14, with new episodes each Thursday thereafter.
