Why Parvati Shallow Wanted To Be a Faithful in The Traitors Season 2

Parvati Shallow is proving to be quite the central character in The Traitors Season 2. While she wasn’t initially chosen as a Traitor by host Alan Cumming, she did later fill the third position when OG Traitors Dan Gheesling and Phaedra Parks selected her to stand alongside them.

What may surprise some fans is that she wanted to remain a Faithful on the show. Despite this, she quickly slipped into the role of Traitor, thanks to her Survivor history. Parvati is known for wickedly deceptive and riveting gameplay. Now, she’s bringing that to Peacock.

Parvati spoke to Screen Rant all about the experience, and explained how she has a hard time lying. She could have fooled us!

“I have a really hard time holding a lie,” Parvati confessed. “Like a really hard time. And bonding with people while lying is very difficult, so I think as a Faithful I could go in and create really solid alliances, and then actually think straight … maybe?”

Parvati also spoke about her pre-existing relationship with Sandra Diaz-Twine. Sandra admitted her smile turned into a “frown” when she saw Parvati, and the feeling was mutual.

“The only person from Survivor who I could’ve had as an ally is someone who I don’t know if I can trust and don’t know if she hates me, or what,” Parvati said. “So there was already just built-in drama from day one, which just ratcheted up my stress from the first moment that we got there.”

Thankfully, Sandra and Parvati were able to put their history aside after their fellow competitor, Peppermint, brought them together. “It felt like reality TV history,” Peppermint said. “The two of you all coming together. I was like, ‘oh, now I can relax.’ I felt like I was in a feud!”

Peppermint’s journey sadly came to an abrupt end in the first three episodes, but Sandra and Parvati remain in the competition. Whether or not they can go all the way, however, remains to be seen.

The Traitors continues Thursdays, streaming on Peacock, with new episodes available from 9 p.m. ET.
