When Hannah Berner left Summer House, she said she would be shifting her career focus toward comedy instead of reality TV. That sounded more like a threat than a promise, and most Bravo fans rolled their eyes at the news. Fast forward three years later, and she’s actually making some major moves in the comedy world.
Hannah is coming to Netflix
According to Variety, Hannah just scored her first-ever Netflix comedy special. It will be an hour-long special taped in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania at the Fillmore on Saturday, March 23.
Hannah has spent the last year touring her comedy show around the country. Last year, Variety named her as one of the top comics to watch. Clearly, someone at Netflix liked what they saw, and Hannah is thrilled to take her career to the next level.
“This is probably the coolest thing that has ever happened to me,” Hannah shared.
She continued, “I’m in love with the hour that I’ve been touring for a while now, and I’m honored that Netflix wants to showcase my silly bits. I’m excited for my standup to reach a larger audience and to celebrate the community of badass women and scared boyfriends, mothers, and zaddies that got me to this point.”
Although we all know Hannah from Summer House, her comedy career took off thanks to a few viral TikTok videos and her two podcasts. She seems fully committed to leaving her reality TV days behind her. The announcement about her special doesn’t even mention her history with Bravo. So, what should we Summer House fans expect from Hannah in her stand-up comedy?
“The show will hopefully make everyone cry hysterically laughing and forget about all their problems for 60 minutes,” Hannah teased. “I also hope they leave feeling empowered and not taking life too seriously. That’s the goal.”
There’s no exact release date planned for Hannah’s Netflix special. It’s expected to be available to stream sometime later in 2024. Meanwhile, if you’re in the Philly area, you can buy tickets to watch the special live!
