Brittany Cartwright Details Nasty Feud Between Kristen Doute and Lala Kent

Vanderpump Rules alum Brittany Cartwright is spilling tea about the feud between her two close friends, Lala Kent and Kristen Doute. She’s not happy they aren’t talking to each other, especially since she’s close to both of them.

“I hate it because I love them both so much,” Brittany said. “Lala is one of my very closest friends. Kristen is one of my closest friends. And nothing tears me up inside more than whenever people that I love can’t get along.” She doesn’t want to be forced to choose sides.

Mrs. Jax Taylor, who will co-star alongside Kristen on Bravo’s upcoming series The Valley, is hoping her two friends can make peace. “I want nothing more for them than to be able to move past this … because they are both just amazing women,” she said.

Kristen dished on her podcast

On the January 27 episode of her podcast Sex, Love, and What Else Matters, Kristen mentioned that Lala’s name came up during an appearance on another podcast in November 2023. Another guest, Golnesa “GG” Gharachedaghi, who is friends with Lala’s ex, Randall Emmett, criticized the way Lala parents her and Randall’s 2-year-old daughter Ocean. According to Heavy, Lala was upset that Kristen didn’t defend her.

But Kristen didn’t feel it was her “fight to fight.”

“Who cares what [GG] has to say?” Kristen argued. “If she’s friends with Randall, like, she’s a [expletive] [expletive] … Lala is an insanely wonderful mother. She’s a great mom, she’s always put Ocean first.”

Kristen understands Lala’s feelings but wishes Lala had just talked directly to her. “She should have just called me,” the Pump Rules alum said. “Shoot me a text and say, ‘This really [expletive] hurt my feelings. This was not cool. I’m not happy about this.’”

“We could have had a conversation,” she added. “But instead, she started telling our friends, who then had to come back to me … and fill me in on this.”

Lala’s side

On February 1, Lala rebutted Kristen’s comments on actor Josh Peck’s podcast Good Guys. She claimed to be frustrated with Kristen, especially since her friend is familiar with “the ins and outs of what [she] deal[s]” with, in relation to her ex-fiancé.

“To watch her laugh about someone talk about me as a parent, who doesn’t know me at all, I will not stand for it,” Lala said. “I will claw your eyes out. So, yes, she’s dead to me.” For her part, Kristen denies laughing.

Lala wishes Kristen had just spoken up in the moment and said, “Respectfully, you have no idea what Lala has been through.”

She does, however, think that she and Kristen will eventually mend their friendship. “I’m sure if she were to come to me, now that I’ve calmed down a bit, and say like, ‘I’m so sorry. I wish I would have done that. I apologize.’ I’d be like, ‘We’re all good.’”

Vanderpump Rules airs Tuesdays at 8/7c on Bravo.
