Love Is Blind Season 6: Chelsea ‘Absolutely’ Got Therapy After Filming

Chelsea Blackwell had a rough go on Love Is Blind Season 6. As with any season of Netflix’s most popular dating show, there was bound to be a target of online jeering, and Chelsea was the chosen candidate this time around.

There were a few things that drew fan attention to Chelsea, like suggesting her celebrity lookalike was Megan Fox. Though, she did admit that was a comparison often made by others, not herself.

Another point of attention for fans was Chelsea’s notable insecurity. Viewers on Instagram mocked Chelsea for her constant need for validation and suggested she needed therapy. Well, it seemed Chelsea ran with the suggestion.

How Chelsea felt about her Love Is Blind portrayal

During an Instagram Q&A on February 25, a fan wrote in to ask “After the Love Is Blind experience, have you sought out therapy?” She answered, “Absolutely. The show was very accommodating on helping me not only find a therapist but cover[ing] the fees.” Perhaps Netflix listened to recent backlash.

She further wrote, “I’ve never seeked [sic] a therapist before but man oh man, I feel everyone could benefit from having [an] unbiased opinion.”

In her final paragraph, Chelsea told fans, “I never thought I ‘needed’ therapy but I had a ton of inner issues I needed to debunk and my life, my mindset, my heart has completely changed. I thought I loved myself before but I have never felt THIS kind of love.”

In the same Q&A session, another fan asked Chelsea if she felt she was “accurately portrayed” by Love Is Blind. Chelsea revealed that a great deal of her time on screen “hasn’t been shown.” She said the show “created [the] story line [sic] they saw fit. Was I emotional and insecure? Absolutely. But my feelings were valid.”

Chelsea also wished that the validity of her feelings “was included more. But that’s showbiz baby.”

Love Is Blind Season 6’s next batch of episodes drop Wednesday, February 28, on Netflix.
