All the Ways Kyle Richards Has Shown Personal Growth

Throughout Season 13 of the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, Kyle Richards has made it perfectly clear she was not happy in her 27-year marriage to Mauricio Umansky. During multiple confessionals, she has tried to stay silent and cried about the loss of the love of her life. Whether it was alleged ongoing infidelity or the lack of support from Mau after her best friend committed suicide, Kyle wanted and needed a major change. And even though a separation can be painful, the mother of four is making sure she is going to get exactly what she needs the second time around.

Kyle is a Role Model For Daughters

Without a doubt, Kyle is making decisions based on what she would want her four daughters to do. During one of her last confessionals, she shared that she wouldn’t want any of her daughters to have to live the way she had been living for months. The statement screamed volumes as it showed how aware Kyle was of her failing marriage. And while we can only speculate that there was cheating, Kyle did share that Mauricio did “things” during their relationship “that made me lose my trust. I wasn’t able to recover.”

Kyle has always come across as a direct, honest, and loyal person, even if some Real Housewives of Beverly Hills fans would disagree. However, Kyle strikes me as the kind of woman who may have had an unspoken agreement with her husband to project to the world that everything is perfect, and they are Susie Homemaker. I also think Kyle used to look down on the other women who didn’t have the greatest of marriages or who struggled to assert themselves. This was Kyle for years on the 90210 series. But now she is changing her tune, realizing she can no longer be the ostrich with her head in the sand.

Kyle Is Making Changes

Kyle is not doing her famous splits anymore on the dance floor, and all I can say is, “Who do we have to thank for that miracle!” But in all seriousness, Kyle has made some drastic changes to her life. Firstly, she decided to give up drinking alcohol. Kyle has stated that she didn’t feel cocktails were serving her as she began her spiritual and health journey. I understand her wanting to steer clear of vodka due to her deep issues and the fact that she has clearly been struggling with some serious life challenges. During an emotional outburst, Kyle screamed that she quit drinking because “she couldn’t afford to be depressed.”

Kyle first decided to get on the health train back in 2022 after her breast reduction surgery. Now Kyle is also about the protein, early morning exercise routines, and making time for herself. Even though her co-stars weren’t fans of the new Kyle since they saw her as boring, these changes have really shown just how much Kyle is willing to reinvest in herself, especially if she is going to be back on the market.

New Friends

Along with a healthier physical life, Kyle is also taking to time to nurture friendships that bring the best out in her. This includes her close relationship with Morgan Wade, who might not be the lesbian lover we are all hoping she is. Instead I see Morgan as a supportive sponsor type who is willing to sit on Facetime while Kyle gets ready for a night out. The Halloween Kills star has also made up with her sisters after a lifelong feud.

One other thing that Kyle has done is distance herself from those who she has realized aren’t her true friends. Sadly, this means Dorito Dorit Kemsley was cut off after she tried calling Kyle out on the show. Whatever Kyle is doing to keep sane is working for her. Honestly, it is the least she can do since she has to protect her happiness at all costs now that she might be single once again. The spilt feels final, and if Kyle is going to return to the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, she will need to be in top shape for Season 14.
