Alan Cumming’s Fiercest Fashion on The Traitors

Even though we were all caught up in The Traitors game players, it was hard to ignore some of Alan Cummings fiercest looks. First, whoever the genius behind his wardrobes is needs a raise! It was hard to pick a favorite outfit between his Scottish royalty vibes that would give the Royal Family a run for their money and his peacock chic suites. Each outfit had to be practical since he was climbing the Scottish Highlands, but most importantly, Alan wanted to make sure he always paid tribute to his homeland through his garment choice.

Thankfully, there were multiple Scottish Lochs where Alan could often catch a glimpse of himself in show-stopper outfits. It was clearly important for Alan to show a nod to his Scottish heritage, and it was wonderful to see the host embrace his ancestral ties and how it can be fun to dress up. Alan incorporated a dramatic eye, which often included guyliner to complete most of his over-the-top looks.

A Game of Death

When Kate Chastain was ordered to go to the dungeon, no one expected to see Alan looking so chic as he waited to tell her of her fate. Alan was dressed head to toe in black, including a cape and a well-styled hat. The look was an ode to his look from Season 1 of The Traitors, and I must agree that it is a classic style. The actor made sure to bring back his original black peacoat for a dramatic effect and, presumably, to keep him warm in the draft halls of the dungeon. Adding to the outfit was his use of black gloves and scarf.

A Killer Move

Perhaps my favorite episode was when the faithful and traitors were asked to perform bird calls back to one another to win cash for the prize pot. Naturally, Alan would be the peacock of the group as his choice of clothing matched the challenge perfectly. Alan sported a brown faux-fur coat with an ostrich feather shirt. On top of his head rested a dark green peacock beret that gave me Royal Air Force vibes. He also had a little friend resting next to him, which was a stuffed parrot!

One Finale Hurdle

Alan nailed another Celtic look for the finale, wearing a royal blue shawl adorned with colorful jewels. The look was bright, making sure the spotlight was on Alan as the two finalists decided to finally end the game. Eagle eye viewers who watched Season 1 of The Traitors will remember this cape, as it was nice to see it being reused in Season 2.

The Weight of Deceit

During this outdoor challenge, I felt like Alan had entered his Villain Era! All the actor needed was two dogs at his heels to discharge as he saw fit if any contestants so much as stepped a pinky toe out of line. The gold metallic jacket gave Bond, James Bond, Cumming, Alan Cumming vibes. For this outfit, accessories were a must, and mesh gloves were included, which were beaded with spiders. Glad he isn’t an arachnophobe!

The Funeral

Dare I say death became Alan when he strolled out in his funeral look? The entire cast of The Traitors agreed this was Alan’s best look when asked at the reunion, and I would have to agree with them. The black look and delicious layer upon delicious layer with yet again the use of a cape. The cloak added the drama and had quite the train as he led the procession of mourners.

Alan in Red

Perhaps my favorite look for Alan was the Red Era. The actor clearly had his color analysis done prior to Episode 1 because the outfit popped! Alan wore a red velvet suit with little gem accents all over. Naturally, he paired the suit with a black buttoned-down shirt, and the plaid cape just added to his elegance. We can all agree Edna Mode was wrong for saying, “No capes!” because this look just worked.

Not forgetting his finest accessories, Alan added an oversized tulle flower broach pinned to his lapel. The outfit made a statement to both faithfuls and traitors alike. Alan’s fashion choices would never be questioned while they were in the castle.
