Summer House Season 8, Episode 6 Preview: Jesse Solomon’s Dating Life Is a ‘Full-Time Job’

In a sneak peek of this week’s Summer House episode, the two “southern girls” in the house (Ciara Miller and Lindsay Hubbard) are preparing a southern feast for Friday night dinner.

Ciara chases the guys out of the hot tub and tells them they’d better get their “ducks in a row” and get ready for dinner. When dinner’s almost ready, the registered nurse asks, “Where are these heathens at? … Y’all better come on!” She sounds like my southern grandma. If she says she’s “fixin’ to do” something, I’ll know we’re related.

As the group settles down to a dinner of deviled eggs, southern fried steak, mashed potatoes, and gravy (that should have been milk gravy), Lindsay asks Jesse Solomon, “How many dates did you go on this week?” Kyle Cooke chimes in that he also wants to know about Jesse’s “NYC game.”

WTF is “half “a date?

When Jesse pegs the total number of dates for the week at three and a half, Kyle questions, “What the hell’s a half?!”

“A half is, like, cooked dinner at my apartment,” Jesse explains. “That’s a date,” Ciara says. “That’s, like, actually more than a date,” Lindsay adds.

Attempting to “clarify” the situation, Amanda Batula interjects, “How many different women did you go on dates with this week?”

“Four would be the proper number,” he finally admits. Whoa. Jesse’s a busy boy. (What? He’s the one who told us he only has one testicle.) “Where do you find the time?” Paige DeSorbo wants to know. “It’s a full-time job,” Jesse jokes.

When Ciara asks him if he has any desire to commit, he says, “I would commit to the right girl, for sure.”

Paige pipes up again, wondering what exactly he’s looking for in a girl. “Give me just your top three things that you must have, outside of looks,” she says.

“I would say, she’s smart,” Jesse responds. “I want her to care about things in the world that are going on.”

“Okay, that was two,” Paige decides. “Third?”

Jesse’s perfect girl

“Organized,” Jesse adds. Wow. That’s kind of an odd one, but Paige thinks it’s “interesting.” “What does that mean?” Ciara wants to know. “I’m good at big decisions,” the investor relations specialist says. “But I hate making a bunch of little decisions all day. Like, sure, I’ll pick the place, but you just order for us.”

That seems to make Paige unhappy. “Oh, no, I don’t like that,” she mutters. “I like the guy to order,” Ciara adds.

I agree it’s a little unusual, but it’s kind of refreshing in a way, too. He isn’t afraid to let his girl make some of the decisions. Most guys are brought up to be the opposite. And why shouldn’t she help make some of the decisions? If she’s a smart woman, she should be just as capable as he is of ordering dinner, at the very least.

But then Kyle astonishes the table by asking, “So, now that you know that Paige doesn’t want to do the ordering, do you want to rethink how hard you were hitting on her the first couple of weekends?”

Oh, no he didn’t! Craig is sitting right there. But all Mr. Sewing Down South has to say is, “She’s a pretty girl. I would, too.” Very sure of himself. I like that. Craigy’s grown up.

Summer House airs Thursdays at 9/8c on Bravo.
