Julie Chrisley Served Legal Papers in Prison Over Son’s Crash

The trouble just doesn’t stop for Julie Chrisley. Although she’s already sitting in jail serving a 7-year sentence for fraud charges, she just got slapped with legal papers over a car crash involving her 17-year-old son, Grayson Chrisley. It’s just the latest in a year full of legal issues for the disgraced Chrisley Knows Best family.

Radar Online got the details on the latest Chrisley lawsuit. Back in 2022, Grayson crashed his car into the back of a vehicle driven by a guy named Patrick Rykwalder. According to Patrick, Grayson was distracted while driving and going way too fast down the road. Patrick demanded $750k in damages for the injuries he suffered in the accident.

Julie and Grayson are named in the lawsuit, along with Todd Chrisley and Savannah Chrisley. It’s a true family affair, and the Chrisleys argued that Patrick wasn’t injured in the crash. They’ve asked the courts to toss out the case altogether.

Meanwhile, Patrick has fought tooth and nail against the family’s lawyers. He wants the Chrisleys to fork over their phone records from around the time of the accident. Grayson had to relinquish access to his phone records, but Todd and Julie argued that theirs couldn’t be subpoenaed because of client-attorney privilege related to their other criminal cases. The ball is still up in the air on that one.

As all of this legal drama unfolds, Grayson is reportedly having a hard navigating it. His parents just had an appeals case, and his sister shared on her podcast how much Grayson struggled. The fact that the high school senior is also battling a lawsuit of his own probably doesn’t make things easier.
