Ranking the New RHONY Season 15 Taglines: From Hot To Flop

Ahead of the October 1 premiere, Bravo has released the Real Housewives of New York Season 15 taglines. RHONY certainly brought some memorable and bizarre taglines over the years. Let’s be real, most of them came from Sonja Morgan. Who else could give us both “There’s nothing gray about my gardens” and “Sometimes Sonja has to go commando, what can I say?”

For the majority of the Season 15 cast, this is their second tagline so far. Did they knock it out of the park, or is it a sophomore slump? And how did new Housewife Racquel Chevremont do on her first try? Let us know what you think! As a side note, Rebecca Minkoff does not have a tagline, because she’s onboard as a “friend of” this season. Without further ado, here are our rankings from best to worst!

Ubah Hassan: “Love looks good on me, but darling, what doesn’t?”

Coming in at the top spot is Ubah Hassan! This tagline indicates that Ubah’s love life will factor into her storyline this year. Last season, Ubah was caught off guard when Brynn Whitfield brought up her man in Connecticut. Said man was later revealed as Oliver Dachsel. While Ubah initially kept his identity under wraps, the very dashing couple pose on red carpets together, and Oliver’s appeared on her social media a lot lately. Judging from that, and this tagline, things are going great!

A tagline that gives us insight into her season arc, and that displays her beautiful confidence, gets a 10/10 from us. This also means Ubah is two for two on taglines that use the word “darling.” I encourage it, and not just because “darling” sounds so great in her accent. It makes me think of Lisa Vanderpump, who had some of the greatest Real Housewives taglines of all time. Also, Ubah really does look amazing in the opening credits. That being said, she’s right, when doesn’t she look good?

Brynn Whitfield: “Why date their dad, when you can just be Mother?”

It’s hard to describe the reaction many RHONY viewers had when they first heard Brynn’s debut tagline. “I love to laugh, but make me mad, and I’ll date your dad” is so silly, but so instantly iconic. It’s not surprising that she’d put a twist on it for her second season.

Anything sounds great in Brynn’s purring voice, but this tagline is still a total hoot when you just see it written out. And I can personally attest to seeing many comments calling Brynn “mother,” so, mission accomplished. This hilarious and confident tagline confirms that Brynn will continue to be RHONY’s golden girl this year.

One word of advice, though. Personally, I hope Brynn moves away from the “dating your dad” angle in her third tagline. Otherwise, she risks following the same pattern as Gizelle Bryant, who went out of her way to include “word on the street” in her taglines for years. Or RHONY alum Heather Thomson, who insisted on always adding a “Holla!”

Jessel Taank: “I’m not up and coming, I’m already there”

It’s only natural that Jessel Taank would reference one of her many iconic moments from RHONY Season 14. For a refresher, Jessel memorably called Tribeca an “up and coming” neighborhood. Much to Erin Lichy’s chagrin, who said, “It’s already there.” The Tribeca debate already earned a spot on Reality Tea’s list of best Real Housewives moments.

Taking a moment you threw shade, and twisting it to boast about yourself, is a classic Housewives move! Also, it’s just a statement of fact, because Jessel really has arrived in a big way. She was undoubtedly one of the biggest breakout stars last year. Even Emma Stone is a fan! Who could forget that amazing Rolling Stone spread? And the accompanying article, where she compared herself to Lady Gaga? That brand of confidence absolutely comes through in her Season 15 tagline.

Jenna F*cking Lyons: “Not everyone can be Jenna F*cking Lyons, but they can try”

Is this the first time a Real Housewife cursed in their tagline? Certainly will be different to watch a tagline get bleeped out every week. Or will it be uncensored on Peacock? Either way, you can trust Jenna Lyons to break the mold!

It’s certainly more personal than her Season 14 tagline, “My lashes may be fake, but I keep it real.” Yes, Jenna has a line of fake eyelashes. But this felt too generic, and like it could come from so many other Housewives. This year, she’s unabashedly being herself!

Jenna is clearly leaning in hard to her nickname. In the promo pictures, for instance, there’s a JFL (two guesses on what that stands for) nameplate on her desk. It certainly indicates that she’s coming in hot and confident for Season 15.

Racquel Chevremont: “Just like a painting, you’ll need a couple of looks to figure me out”

For some context, newest Housewife Racquel is a major force in the art world. She curated the art collection of Lisa Todd Wexley on And Just Like That, adding another connection between RHONY and Sex and the City.

I would say this is a pretty good first try. However, it’s not as memorable as some of the other ones on this list. I give her points for not going for some cliched, “I’m a work of art” tagline.

Despite not being too wowed by her tagline, I am really looking forward to seeing Racquel on RHONY. Judging by everything we know about her so far, she’s super cool and exactly what RHONY needs. Also, her style is incredible! I can’t wait to see some of the looks she brings to the fashion-forward reboot.

Sai De Silva: “I may be hungry, but at least I’m not thirsty”

It makes sense, in your second season as a Real Housewife, to incorporate one of your memorable traits from the first season into a tagline. However, I’m surprised Sai De Silva chose to reference the fact that she was seemingly never full at numerous events throughout Season 14. Did she also debate a tagline that acknowledged her controversial disdain for cheese?

The way she draws out the word “thirsty” reminds me of Kristen Taekman’s taglines. Unfortunately, Kristen’s “I may not be the sharpest tool in the shed, but I’m pretty” is generally considered one of the worst Real Housewives taglines. Sai’s isn’t that bad, especially because it’s not unfairly rude to herself. But you can’t unhear the parallel.

Erin Lichy: “In the cocktail of life, a New Yorker is never shaken nor stirred”

Unfortunately, someone had to come in last. Based on my personal preference, Erin Lichy’s tagline is my least favorite of the bunch. It’s not a great sign when my response to a tagline is wondering how it should be worded differently.

To me, this tagline is just confusing. The cocktail of life? Is that a saying? What cocktail isn’t shaken or stirred? Is James Bond hiding around close by? Certainly not a good one, so does that mean the cocktail of life is…bad? Or just if you’re a New Yorker?

Last year, Erin’s tagline also referenced being a born and raised New Yorker. Is Erin the new Kyle Richards, who always needs to remind us that Beverly Hills is HER town? Kyle is an iconic Housewife for a lot of reasons, but taglines aren’t one of them. For future seasons, Erin should look to other Real Housewives for tagline inspiration. However, if you disagree and think Erin’s is the best, let us know in the comments!

Real Housewives of New York can be streamed on Peacock.
