The cost of getting back to better health has skyrocketed for Brandi Glanville. The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum has been battling a mystery illness for almost two years. It’s left her in social isolation and struggling with facial swelling and pain.
Brandi feels that she’s dealing with a facial parasite. However, she has not received any official diagnosis despite spending a fortune on doctors, tests, and medications. The former Bravo star shared the updated expenditures during a recent interview.
Brandi Glanville has spent over $113,000 tackling her health issues
“I’m out of funds. I’m out over six figures at this point,” Brandi exclusively told Us Weekly. “I don’t have the means to go anywhere at this point. I’m online every day, going down a different rabbit hole. It’s exhausting. It’s all-consuming.”
Brandi has spent “over $113,000” to date. That includes all the out-of-network costs, separate of her health insurance plan.
“I just wanna find a doctor who makes it, like, his mission to help me,” Brandi continued. “And not just me, [but] these other poor women who have been going through this for so long, and men, too. I’ve had a couple men reach out. I feel for them, like, I know exactly what they’re talking about and the pressure in their head, how they feel it’s gonna explode. I’m at my wits’ end.”
In January, Botched star Dr. Terry Dubrow took biopsies from Brandi’s face. The tests came back negative for cancerous cells. But Terry also tested for microorganisms, suspecting either a microbacterium or a fungus. Those tests would take several months to get results. In addition, Brandi’s gotten CAT scans, MRI, and ultrasounds. All have been inconclusive to explain “whatever’s living in [her] face.”
“So, I went to the best infectious disease doctor, I went to the best allergist,” she explained. “I had to because when you’ve seen every doctor at Kaiser and they’re telling you, ‘Maybe see a dentist.’ And you’re like, ‘I’m at the dentist constantly, [but] there’s a lump in my neck and my throat under my cheekbone that goes to the other side of my face.’”
Brandi continued, “It’s moving down my body, like, literally in my neck now moving on my left shoulder [and] down my arm,” she said. “I have to get up, I have to stretch, I have to get in a hot tub. I have a routine and it sucks.”
Brandi feels like she is living in a “prison”
The social isolation has been the worst for Brandi. She feels her confinement is like a “prison” and is calling it her “lowest moment.” Lately, she’s been feeling “worse than ever.” The reality TV star mourns “missing out on life,” including physical intimacy.
“[My lowest moment is] just not living life and missing out on life,” she shared. “I literally don’t do anything and I feel like I’m experiencing [the] COVID-19 [pandemic lockdown] all over again, but with some miserable side effects.”
The former Bravolebrity added, “I miss socializing with my girlfriends and then having sex with men. I’m a Scorpio. I love sex. So, I was having a lot of it and now I haven’t had any of it and I’m like, ‘Have I forgotten how to kiss?’ But, like, I’ve lost myself. I feel more insecure than I ever have in my life. Normally, I feel fairly secure and I don’t get nervous. I don’t get anxiety about most things. Some things do give me anxiety, don’t get me wrong, but I feel like I lost Brandi.”
There is one respite from all the physical symptoms. Brandi discovered that Cellsound treatment helps her. It’s used cosmetically to rejuvenate skin, increase collagen, and eliminate excess fat cells.
“It’s an ultrasound therapy,” she shared. “It pisses off whatever’s going on there and it gives me reprieve from the pressure and it’s been very helpful.”
Brandi also tried a stem cell treatment, supervised by Dr. Joy Kong. She hailed the treatment for giving her “more energy.”
“Right after [Kong’s treatment], I had more energy. I feel better,” she said. “I mean, it hasn’t helped the looks of anything as of yet, as I’ve only done it once. But I feel like, because my whole body aches, it’s very bizarre.”
