Jax Taylor came clean with the public about his cocaine addiction right before the release of The Valley Season 2 landed on Bravo. But, if you ask his costars, Kristen Doute and Nia Sanchez Booko, his early confession felt calculated. Season 2 is not going to treat Jax kindly. Jax knows this, leading Kristen and Nia to feel like maybe he was trying to get ahead of this mess, counting on our sympathy to soften his storylines.
Was Jax Taylor attempting to “get the storyline” on The Valley Season 2 with his coke problem confession?
Right before Season 2 dropped, Jax sat down with his producer, opening up about his decades-long cocaine addiction. Jax is now sober, he revealed. But as Season 2 started airing, one thing was clear. This season will be dark, thanks to Jax and his antics that led to his stay at a mental health facility midway through filming.
Kristen and Nia recently stopped into DECIDER’s studio to discuss their series. Naturally, the topic of Jax and his coke confession came up. As Kristen explained, she is glad that the cameras caught Jax raging against Brittany Cartwright, his estranged wife.
I am grateful that it aired, the way that he treats her behind closed doors. Now the viewers really get to see how he was truly being during that time,” Kristen stressed.
However, Nia has a different, messy take, which Kristen seconded. “It’s convenient, the timing, right before [the season aired],” Nia began. Nia believes that Jax opened up about his struggles with a pre-planned purpose in mind. He needed to “get [ahead of] the storyline,” she stated.
On a different note, Nia and Kristen are beyond proud of Brittany. She is finally finding her voice this season on The Valley, they cheered. Hopefully, Jax will discover a new path as well, continuing to steer clear of coke and alcohol.
