Teddi Mellencamp is an inspiration to all amid her battle with cancer. The former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star has made a point to be real and honest with her followers since having the first of over a dozen melanomas removed in March 2022. She’s been credited for her limitless optimism and positivity amid a very trying situation. But Teddi also shared a vulnerable side during a recent interview.
Teddi’s cancer journey got all the more dire in February 2025. Doctors discovered tumors in her lungs and brain. Positivity was needed more than ever. And the accountability coach rose to the occasion. Earlier this week, she announced the very promising news that her tumors either disappeared or shrank due to immunotherapy treatment. But the emotional battle is still not over.
Teddi Mellencamp’s cancer journey is a battle of two minds
Teddi spoke exclusively to People on Monday, April 28. The Bravolebrity attended An Unforgettable Evening Benefiting the Women’s Cancer Research Fund in Beverly Hills and shared an update on her health. Both physical and emotional.
“I’m feeling pretty good,” Teddi said. “I mean, today is day five post immunotherapy, so it’s day four. And five are always the hardest.”
It was then that the Two T’s In A Pod podcast co-host shared the depth of her vulnerability and despair at times. The RHOBH alum admitted that she is not always as strong as people think.
“You know, when people come up to me and they’re like, ‘You’re so strong, you did this.’ I’m like, half the time I’m strong, and half the time I’m crying and sad,” Teddi shared.
She continued, “[But, at the moment] I feel good. What I’ve learned is that I have amazing kids. I have amazing friends and a support system that’s there for me, and I think that’s huge.”
The taxing rounds of immunotherapy are coming to an end. She’s already completed radiation. And with that, Teddi is confident that she will have a chance to regain some strength.
“We did a double dose five days ago, and then I have another set next Wednesday. And then I hope, hopefully I’m done,” she shared.
