Season 2, Episode 3 of The Valley centered around Janet Caperna’s birthday bash at Dave & Buster’s. She was hopeful the night would be peaceful, exclaiming that the venue is a place for games, not drama, but unsurprisingly, the group didn’t live up to Janet’s expectations. Jesse and Michelle Lally’s divorce woes continued to cause drama in Episode 3, transforming Dave & Buster’s from an arcade to a war zone. The tension mainly stemmed from a comment Jesse made in a group chat about Michelle’s romantic endeavors. Some cast members emerged from the drama victorious, while others were left with their tails between their legs.

Here are the winners and losers from The Valley Season 2, Episode 3.

Jesse Lally – Loser

Jesse found himself in hot water in Episode 3 after Luke Broderick exposed an unsavory comment he made in the guys’ group chat. Luke, who is not in the infamous chat, heard about the comment from Danny Booko, who believed he could trust Luke to keep the information confidential. But it turns out, Kristen Doute’s influence has turned the Colorado Native into a bit of a gossip.

Luke told Brittany Cartwright and Nia Booko that Jesse claimed Michelle was sleeping with a billionaire for money. Brittany and Nia ran to tell Michelle, who was appalled by the rumor and said it was untrue. Once Jesse was confronted, he admitted the rumor was false, saying it was a “joke.” Yeah, real funny. He tried to shift the blame by calling out Danny for spilling the tea, but the damage was done. It was not a good look for Jesse.

Luke Broderick – Winner

Luke was a messy king in Episode 3, and I’m here for it. Usually, Luke serves as Kristen’s emotional support while she causes mayhem, but in Season 2, he’s doing some damage of his own. He knew what he was doing by sharing Jesse’s comment with Michelle’s closest friends in the group. He acted surprised by how quickly the information spread, apologizing to Danny for leaking his secret, but we all know he had sinister intentions. Kristen has trained him well. Bravo!

Danny Booko – Loser

Danny thought he was engaging in harmless gossip when he shared Jesse’s comment with Luke. Unfortunately for him, he gravely underestimated the man in Kristen Doute’s life. He was naive to believe a comment like that would remain a secret, especially with this group of people. Danny’s blunder will likely cost him Jesse’s trust and could even get him kicked out of the group chat, which I’m sure Nia will love. It honestly sounds disgusting.

Jason Caperna – Winner

Jason Caperna had two major wins in Episode 3. One being that he got Jax Taylor to rehab, which is an impressive feat considering his reluctance to get help in the past. His second win was his decision to abstain from buying Apple products. His Android saved him from being added to the unsettling boys’ chat, keeping him in the dark about Jesse’s escort comments. Jason remained totally unscathed in Episode 3. He got to enjoy his wife’s birthday drama-free and discover all that Dave & Buster’s has to offer. Good for him!

Michelle Lally

Michelle and Jesse’s divorce has divided fans. Some fans have expressed sympathy for Jesse, especially after seeing how quickly Michelle moved on. However, Episode 3 seemed to shift public perception. He spread a damaging rumor about her that could have detrimental effects on her life and career. Jesse’s carelessness earned Michelle some new fans and more public support.

She spoke about how the rumor affected her on The Valley After Show.

“I have worked really hard since I was twenty years old,” she told producers. “To just diminish what I’ve done in the workplace, and call me an escort or a hooker when I am the mother of your child is just devastating.” Period. I am definitely Team Michelle after Episode 3.

The Valley is available to stream on Peacock and Hayu in the UK and Ireland.
