All Housewives franchises weren’t created equally, and Gia Giudice just learned that the hard way. In a new episode of her podcast, Casual Chaos, she claimed that Riley Burruss got frustrated with her when she tried comparing Real Housewives of New Jersey to the Real Housewives of Atlanta.
Gia and Riley will appear together in Bravo’s new nepo baby show, Next Gen NYC. So, if this is a glimpse of a feud that’s to come, consider us intrigued.
Riley Burruss was “offended” Gia Giudice compared RHONJ to RHOA
In the episode of Casual Chaos, Gia was joined by RHONJ star Dolores Catania. Gia complained about how Riley got upset when she tried comparing their respective shows.
“Riley, Kandi [Burruss]’s daughter, I actually said to her once, ‘I feel like Atlanta and Jersey give the same energy,” Gia recalled.
“She got really offended by that,” Gia continued. “She looked at me and said, ‘No, they’re very different.’ I said, ‘Okay.’”
Dolores replied and said that it wasn’t “nice” for Riley to have this differing opinion about their shows. Perhaps what they’re both missing here is that Atlanta was a pioneering reality show for Black women. RHONJ, on the other hand, has never had a Black cast member.
Either way, Gia went on to complain about the interaction with Riley as if it hurt her feelings. She said she was trying to “bond” with her Next Gen NYC co-star over their shared experiences of growing up on Bravo. Leaning on her experience as a Housewife, Dolores warned Gia to proceed with caution.
This isn’t the first eyebrow-raising comment that Gia has made on her podcast. Previously, she used her new platform to shut down speculation about her mom’s tax troubles, drag Bethenny Frankel, and dispel rumors about her dad’s deportation. Tune in every week for more tea from Gia.
Next Gen NYC premieres on Bravo on Tuesday, June 3, at 9/8c.
