Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum Teddi Mellencamp is the picture of strength as her cancer battle continues. But even warriors need to cry sometimes.
“The day to day decision of wig versus no wig,” Teddi captioned an Instagram snap of herself. “Crying days I tend to pick the wig.”
“The highs and lows of treatment for stage 4 brain and lung tumors are pretty extreme,” she added, before urging fans to schedule their annual screenings. “It’s melanoma awareness month. No better time than now to book and remind a friend or loved one.”

Shortly after her brain surgery in March, Teddi shared a photo on Instagram of her shaved head. At the time she asked her followers to weigh in on whether they preferred the wig or the buzz cut.
“Some days you feel like a wig, some days you don’t,” she captioned the photo.
Personally, I think she should feel proud to wear the buzz, since it really brings her gorgeous eyes into focus. But when you’re going through something as traumatic as cancer, you should definitely do whatever makes you most comfortable.
First diagnosed with melanoma in 2022, Teddi has since undergone multiple surgeries to remove cancerous lesions from her skin. But in February of this year came the news that her cancer had metastasized. Doctors discovered “multiple tumors” in her brain, requiring surgery and radiation.
Just a month later, Teddi’s medical team found more tumors in her brain and lungs. Doctors told her she was in stage 4 melanoma with a “50/50” chance of survival.
After beginning immunotherapy, the mom of three got a more hopeful prognosis. The tumors were “significantly” smaller. Teddi’s doctors believe “that this [treatment] all will work and that I will be back to myself and feeling good!”
Last week, the Two Ts in a Pod cohost proudly walked the red carpet at the Women’s Cancer Research Gala. At her side was one of her besties, RHOBH star Kyle Richards. Teddi looked stunning in a black pantsuit, silver heels … and a buzz cut.
