February hits differently for Teddi Mellencamp now. This time last year, the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum was in the hospital after receiving a shock diagnosis. The stage 2 melanoma that Teddi had been battling since 2022 had metastasized to her brain and lungs. A very delicate surgery followed, as well as continued immunotherapy.
A year later, Teddi is doing better. Her cancer battle continues, but she is focused on slowly regaining her strength. And after the excitement of Super Bowl Sunday 2026, the Two T’s In a Pod podcast co-host is reflecting on life from a year ago.
Teddi Mellencamp is feeling a lot better now than a year ago
“It is pretty crazy that my cancerversary is about a week away,” Teddi said during a conversation with People. “I remember being at the Super Bowl working it with Tamra [Judge] and just having these burning headaches and just thinking, ‘What is wrong with me?’ And coming home the day after the Super Bowl and going into the hospital.”
Thankfully, Teddi can say “how much better I feel now versus then.”
She continued, “It was affecting different lobes, so it was affecting my speech, my thought, everything. That’s all slowly coming back. I’m just so grateful that I trusted my instinct and did go to the doctor that day.”
John Mellecamp’s daughter has previously spoken about how draining the immunotherapy is. Teddi told People how she explains her health needs to her children.
“There are some days that I’m completely exhausted from the immunotherapy,” she shared. “I’ve just been really honest with them, like, ‘Mommy’s not feeling great today, so I’m going to rest, but it has nothing to do with you guys. I love you so much. Come in here when you’re ready and let’s watch a show or spend time together, but I am going to take it easy today.'”
Teddi changed her habit of planning “far in the future.” Rather now it’s “one day at a time” for the Bravolebrity.
“Right now, it’s just been one day at a time, one foot in front of the other and getting things done as I can,” she concluded. “Hopefully more exciting things will show up.”
Catch The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills Thursdays at 8/7c on Bravo. It streams on Peacock.
