In a shocking turn of events, Amy Slaton agreed to a marriage proposal from boyfriend Brian Scott Lovvom. The engagement was filmed and aired on the May 14 episode of 1000-Lb Sisters. Amy’s sisters Tammy Slaton and Misty Slaton Wentworth were on hand to witness the happy moment.
As the reality TV star is an avid lover of Halloween, Brian took her to Henderson Haunts’ haunted house “during Winter 2024” in their native Kentucky to pop the question. More specifically, he got down on one knee in the padded cell room and called his love for Amy “insane.”
1000-Lb Sisters star Amy Slaton is engaged to boyfriend Brian Scott Lovvom after five months
Amy confirmed to People earlier this week that she is indeed engaged to Brian after five months of dating.
“Originally, he slipped a green apple Ring Pop on my finger while I was asleep. About two weeks into our relationship,” Amy shared. “I was shocked at first. And I said yes but only if the real proposal was in a haunted house on Halloween.”
Brian set up a date at the haunted house. He also invited her family to join in. As it turns out, Tammy and Misty did not take the proposal well. They voiced concerns about the pace of the relationship.
“She [Tammy] really felt like we were rushing it,” Amy said.
Amy is full-on wedding planning
The engagement ring speaks to the Halloween theme. It’s “gothic” over a traditional diamond situation. Two skeleton hands form a heart in the center.
“He said something about, ‘My love for you is crazy, it’s scary how compatible we are,’ Amy said of the proposal speech. “Just like [how] our matching tattoos say, ‘Scary love.’”
The 1000-Lb Sisters star envisions a “small, quaint” Halloween themed wedding. She said, “[We are] still figuring out the wedding party situation … need to find a venue, dress, flowers, pretty much everything.”
Amy was in wedding planning mode right away. She wants a dress with “white with black lines, a corset with a princess poof.” And while the reality TV star is envisioning “a Victorian style updo,” Brian wants Amy “to have pink hair for the wedding.”
The duo were arrested in September 2024 at a zoo in Tennessee. Law enforcement found marijuana and psychedelic mushrooms in their car. Amy’s two young sons Gage 4, and Glenn, 2, that she shares with ex-husband Michael Halterman, were also in tow. She entered a plea deal and was able to avoid jail time.
