Kelly Bensimon costarred on The Real Housewives of New York with Bethenny Frankel on Seasons 2, 3, and 4. The duo did not always get along. The conflict culminated in the infamous Scary Island moment when Bethenny told Kelly to “go to sleep” and called her “crazy.”
But that’s bygone drama. And Kelly has nothing but positive words for Bethenny amid the news that she and her daughter, Brynn, are moving to Florida. New York City and the Hamptons were home base the for entirety of Brynn’s life, whom Bethenny shares with ex-husband Jason Hoppy. And the RHONY alum has shared why she thinks the move will be so beneficial for the family.
Bethenny Frankel was “really smart” to move to Florida, says Kelly Bensimon
Kelly weighed in on the matter in an exclusive interview with Us Weekly. She applauds her former castmate for the decision.
“I think that moving to Florida is always a good idea when you’re at that second stage of your life,” Kelly shared.
Kelly certainly can be credited for her financial savvy when she called off her engagement to Scott Litner allegedly after he refused to sign a prenup. And the RHONY alum thinks Bethenny’s move makes financial sense.
“It’s a homestead state, so it’s really good to protect your finances,” she continued. “So that was a really, really smart move for her and just to relax and just take these next whatever it is — 30 years — and just really for her to really, really enjoy. I think that’s a great idea for her.”
In April 2025, Bethenny announced the move via Instagram, explaining that it was for “personal and professional reasons.”
“I am moving to Florida for personal and professional reasons,” she said at the time. “Something has arisen that made this the best and healthiest for myself and my daughter.”
