Welcome to the recap for Next Gen NYC Episode 2 in their first season. Last week, we were introduced to the cast of well-off twenty-somethings who may or may not have parents who starred on Bravo. Brooks led the pack by being the glue that held the group together. However, the group fractured once Charlie tried to date Brooks’ sister Chloe and sent an inappropriate text to Brooks about her. Meanwhile, Georgia offended Riley and Gia when she bragged she didn’t wash her hands and ate candy off the street. Would the group make up and call it a wash? Here’s exactly what went down in Next Gen NYC Season 1, Episode 2: “What Happens in Brooklyn.”

The drama with Charlie continued, this time with multiple members of the cast. He made up with Brooks, only to go back to talking badly about Chloe again. The sh*t-talking continued when he thought less of Ariana for being a Housewives kid. Ariana held her own, so Charlie directed his anger towards Hudson instead. Meanwhile, Ariana and Riley reconnected after a decade due to their parents having a falling out. And #germgate was resolved when Georgia admitted she actually does wash her hands. Phew!

The aftermath from the night before was still reeling in Georgia’s mind as she sat with Dylan, Charlie, and Shai. Cut to Georgia stumbling around wondering if she should tell Riley to “f*ck off” after Riley didn’t want her germy hug. Thankfully, Charlie had stopped her from acting a fool.

Dylan shared, “Riley, she’s thorny at first. She tests people. She did the same thing with me. And now I love Riley.” Then he dropped the bomb: “But she did threaten to punch me when we first met.” Record scratch!

In her confessional, Riley said, “I did not really want to punch Dylan in the face.” The two had beef because she had left him and his ten friends outside of the club because she couldn’t get them all in for free. First world problems.

Georgia brought it back to her and said that Gia was also giving her the stink eye. Shai wondered who Gia was, and then Dylan did a rendition of “Waking Up in the Morning.” Shai went, “Ohhhh.” Gia’s video really is worldwide.

And speaking of Gia, she and her mom, Teresa Giudice from Real Housewives of New Jersey, had a date. The two met up with Brooks and his mom, Meredith Marks, from Real Housewives of Salt Lake City. The foursome also discussed the drama from the night before. Brooks had brought up Charlie, who did end up giving him an apology.

Still, he wanted to work on being more assertive. Teresa wondered why he just didn’t flip a table. Meredith added he could always shout, “You! Can! Leave!” However, it wasn’t so easy for Brooks. He also had issues with his sexuality being dissected by the internet. Thankfully, he had Gia to help him navigate the craziness

Although Dylan and Charlie were roomies, they couldn’t be more different. Dylan said, “Charlie will say things like ‘Don’t pick that up; the maids are coming.’ Let’s just maybe put it in the trash ourselves … I didn’t have maids growing up. Charlie’s just used to a different level of assistance.”

Dylan dished he makes a living as a “digital entrepreneur,” making all his cash via whatever the hottest app is. And right now that’s OnlyFans. When the producer asked him how Charlie made money, Dylan joked, “I don’t think he does.” Still, Dylan noted it was probably through a trust fund. Not crypto trading, bro?

Charlie’s dad wondered the same. His father, Anwar, asked him how his crypto trading was going, and Charlie mumbled, “Buy more every day.” Anwar was not amused. Charlie explained that his dad provided for them growing up, but he wasn’t there emotionally. But hey, he pays for his lifestyle, so there’s that.

Meanwhile, Emira met up with Ava at the park, and she does not do nature. Same, girl, same. The topic of boyfriends then came up. Emira was nervous to introduce her man, Kevin, to her dad. Ava noted her dad goes hard on her boyfriends and quizzes them about marriage on day one. Still, he hadn’t scared off her current boyfriend, Hook, just yet.

However, Emira thought Charlie and Ava were really a match. But Ava was a firm no. She said, “I’m just not attracted to Charlie in that way.” Ava added she needed someone who was motivated. She said, “That’s just not him.” Still, Emira didn’t buy it. She saw their connection and figured it was only a matter of time.

Ava got a little father-daughter time with her dad, Damon. We learned her parents are divorced and she grew up in both NY and LA. Also, since her parents are entrepreneurs, the pressure was on for her to do the same. However, Ava only wanted to model, much to Damon’s dismay. Damon also did not want to hear about any personal issues, such as needing him to pay for health insurance to get her IUD taken out. He joked, “You’re making me need a joint!”

Ariana and Hudson met up to discuss their clothing line. And Ariana learned from her parents what she didn’t want, which was for them to go to court if their business went south. So, she and Hudson were going to write a business plan. And in a show of good faith, Hudson wanted her to have 51% of the company. I like these two together.

Ariana then surprised Hudson when she mentioned she wanted to reach out to Riley. She said, “I would love to catch up, and you know, and make sure the air is clear. I’m wanting to have a friend here.”

Despite Dylan’s observation that Riley was “thorny,” she was not that at all with Ariana. Even though it had been over a decade, the two hit it off like old times. Riley told Ariana what her mom, Kandi Burruss from Real Housewives of Atlanta, had said. She shared, “Don’t let what went on between me and her mom affect y’all. Like, y’all are completely different now. Y’all are like adults.”

Ariana agreed, and her mom, Kim Zolciak, was supportive as well. They laughed at a cute photo of them as kids and planned a meet-up with Brooks and Gia the next day. So far, so good!

The meet-up then included Charlie, who had it out for Ariana. Brooks noted, “When we were about to start filming and Charlie found out there were more Housewives kids on the show, he was frustrated.”

So, it came as no surprise that Charlie acted like a middle schooler when she arrived. He taunted her that they heard a lot about her. Isn’t this dude almost 30?

Charlie then wondered if anyone brought Purell as a dig at Georgia. When Ariana joked she had some, he quipped, “You didn’t even know about it.” Ariana snapped back not to be disrespectful. To retaliate, he pulled Georgia aside to rile her up and said Ariana was talking about #germgate.

Thankfully, Ariana asked her about it, and Georgia confirmed she washed her hands. Riley was all good with it too. That was until Georgia said, “You were, like, a little scary about it.” Facepalm.

The drama was on pause, but not for long. Charlie was back at it again when he kept bringing up sleeping with Chloe. Ariana stepped in and confronted him for being a “d*ck.”

Charlie’s response was to try and fight Hudson. Hudson wondered, “You wanna act some type of way in your corduroy pants?” Dead.

Still, no one took the bait, and Charlie ran off with his tail between his legs. Brooks sighed, “It’s just like literally fighting with a wall.” Why does anyone like this guy?

Next Gen NYC continues Tuesdays at 9/8c on Bravo and streams on Hayu in the UK and Ireland.
