Real Housewives of New York alum Bethenny Frankel has always had a lot to say. And she’s thankful to social media for giving her a platform to respond when someone says something about her. In this instance, Bethenny clapped back at Joy Behar’s recent criticism of her body.
Bethenny has always had a strong relationship with social media. She has opinions and she wants to share them. And despite some ups and downs (Beth previously thought she was shadowbanned thanks to her Kardashian rants), fans can be rest assured Bethenny will always be willing to share on her TikTok or Instagram.
Bethenny Frankel won’t let Joy Behar have the last word
ICYMI, Bethenny appeared on the Sports Illustrated runway in May looking pretty fabulous. The hosts of The View were discussing the swimsuit show and Bethenny’s prep before walking the runway. Joy mentioned that she admired Bethenny but that her “boobs are still fake.”
Bethenny wasn’t taking that lying down. She clapped back on TikTok with a video in which she spoke directly to Joy and said that her breasts are real and that Joy was living a “miserable life.”
Bethenny explained that she had a breast lift over 15 years ago and that women of a certain age can live freely with happiness and joy and are not “washed-up, miserable older women,” which is what she eventually said Joy was embodying.
“The real tea that is important about what just happened with Joy Behar is that when you sit on the media deus, traditional media, you get the last word because you’re in a power position over everybody, even other celebrities,” Bethenny shared with Page Six.
Bethenny went on to say that modern social media shifts the balance of power. “No, you don’t get to have the last word,” she said. On her social media platforms, Bethenny has a combined over 7 million followers. Which means she sends her opinion quickly to millions of people.
Bethenny explained that “most people won’t defend themselves and can’t out of fear.” But social media has helped people reclaim their power. “It (social media) gives them the power to have their own voice,” she asserted. “And no one gets to slap them without being held accountable.”
This isn’t the first time Bethenny has clapped back at someone online. She hit back at a designer who accused her of selling gifted items. She also hit back at a troll online for criticizing a retail therapy outlet.
Real Housewives of New York is streaming on Peacock and Hayu in the UK and Ireland.
