Season 12 of Below Deck is giving Chef Anthony Iracane a chance at redemption on the motor yacht St. David. Previously, the French chef was fired in Season 11. The quality of his output nose-dived, and Captain Kerry Titheradge simply could not keep him on board.
But Chief Stew Fraser Olender convinced the captain to give Anthony another chance. He vouched for his friend’s capabilities and suggested that Anthony had worked through whatever emotional issues he had while filming Season 11. And on a recent episode of Watch What Happens Live, the chef revealed exactly what he was dealing with. And it shocked host Andy Cohen.
Below Deck’s Chef Anthony appeared on WWHL with Andy Cohen
On the June 16 episode of WWHL, Anthony shocked Andy by revealing that his ex-wife engaged in an affair with his uncle.
“I wouldn’t show a lot of emotion. Everybody knows what happened. I [got] divorced. My ex-wife left me for my uncle, so that’s kind of a crazy thing. My dad passed. I went through a lot,” he revealed.
Andy clarified, “Hold on, please … Your ex-wife left you for your uncle?”
The tryst occurred six months before filming started for Below Deck Season 11. Yachting runs in the family. Anthony’s uncle is a captain, and his ex-wife was working as a chief stew on his vessel.
Andy asked if the illicit lovers were still together. Anthony replied, “Yeah. They want to make a family. So it’s kind of cool. It’s like, who am I? Am I their uncle now?”
Despite how much grace Anthony seems to approach the situation, he is “absolutely not” in contact with either party anymore. However, he added, “I mean, honestly, it was for the best.”
In addition to this betrayal, Anthony also had lost his father shortly before filming last season. He stated, “I jumped on Below Deck with all of this in my mind.”
Just because Anthony has worked through all of this does not mean that her returns to Below Deck drama-free. He’s now pondering whether or not Fraser played any part in his firing last season.
