Joe Giudice has never been exactly known for his tact or filter. I still remember when he tried to do at-home gymnastics and chipped a tooth on the “marble” floor. But even by his standards, his latest social media post has people rightfully outraged. The former Real Housewives of New Jersey husband, who now lives in the Bahamas following his deportation, shared an offensive and tone-deaf meme about Michelle Obama on Juneteenth, and the internet is not having it.
The backlash was swift, and for good reason. Not only was the timing disgusting, but the content itself was laced with disrespect, ignorance, and the kind of political lingo that’s become all too familiar from Bravo’s far-right, fringe exes. And while Joe may be thousands of miles away from the RHONJ drama now, his latest post proves that his capacity for chaos is still very much intact.
Joe Giudice posts offensive Juneteenth meme about Michelle Obama
Juneteenth, a Federal holiday commemorating the end of slavery in the United States, is an important day for many Americans. But not Joe who decided to hop on Instagram and post a meme mocking the former First Lady. The image, which we won’t legitimize by reposting here, featured a racially charged caption and crude commentary disguised as humor. Spoiler: it wasn’t funny.
Joe recently showed support for the President and the MAGA movement. The 53-year-old shared a controversial image via his Instagram Story that just left a bad taste in everyone’s mouth. The meme showed Barack Obama asking Melania Trump, “How could you have married that man?” She replied, “I was going to ask you the same question!” Within hours, the post was deleted but not before screenshots spread across Reddit, Twitter, and Bravo fan pages. Let’s be clear: posting anything mocking Michelle Obama is already in poor taste and shows the failure of public education. But doing it on Juneteenth a day meant to honor Black freedom and reflect on America’s history adds another layer of tone-deafness that’s hard to justify. Joe may no longer have a Bravo contract, but that doesn’t mean Bravo fans aren’t watching and holding him accountable.
Joe Giudice believes in MAGA
If you’ve been keeping up with Joe post-deportation, you probably already know that political hot takes have become his brand. And by “hot takes,” we mean conspiracy-laced, MAGA-friendly rants that usually involve some combination of “the government screwed me,” “Trump would’ve fixed this,” and “real men don’t wear masks.” On June 10, Joe shared another Instagram Story that proved he was a Trumper through and through. Joe’s support for Trump has been loud and public. The newest story read “When democrats tell me something negative about Trump. I don’t give a f*ck.”
He also called Kamala Harris and California Governor Gavin Newsom, “full of sh*t lying douchebags.” Ah, Shakespeare would be proud. Real Housewives of New Jersey fans have taken to Reddit to clap back. Fans labeled Joe a “bigot” and even accused him of being transphobic. One follower wrote, “AND THERE IT IS!!! I always knew it would come out one day. I’ve been waiting. There is no way someone like Guidice wouldn’t be racist, especially against Black women.” Another person added, “It’s not just the racism, Joe’s going for the double combo racism with transphobia on top. He’s like a bigotry Avatar.” It’s not exactly surprising that Joe would post something inflammatory. But this former First Lady meme crossed a line. When your political views start veering into racist mockery, it’s no longer about freedom of speech. It’s about decency and Joe clearly missed the memo.
Why is Joe Giudice deported?
It seems ironic that Joe would have such strong opinions on the U.S. Government when he never took the time to become a legal citizen or follow the rules. And let’s not forget how Joe ended up in the Bahamas in the first place. After serving a 41-month prison sentence for fraud, Joe was deported to Italy in 2019 due to his undocumented status in the U.S. He had lived in America since childhood but never became a citizen. And after his felony conviction, immigration laws left him with no legal path to remain.
Eventually, Joe relocated to the Bahamas to be closer to his daughters, who still live in New Jersey with Teresa Giudice. He’s since tried to rebrand himself as a fitness influencer and local contractor. But posts like this prove that he hasn’t grown much since his Bravo days. If Joe wants to be taken seriously, mocking a respected Black woman on a holiday meant to honor Black history isn’t the move.
The Real Housewives of New Jersey is available to stream on Peacock and Hayu in the UK and Ireland.
