Jax Taylor’s behavior on The Valley Season 2 is deplorable. He threw furniture while fighting with his ex-wife Brittany Cartwright. He also spied on her over the surveillance cameras at their former family home. The month spent in rehab brought Brittany no relief, as Jax rage texted on multiple occasions. Some viewers are outraged that Jax is still employed. Venues on his podcast tour pulled their support. But Jax is still a reality TV star, which is where this petition comes in…
Should The Valley’s Jax Taylor leave his television career behind?
A petition filed on Change.org to fire Jax for “offensive and harmful behavior” currently has over 12,000 signatures.
“Jax Taylor, a prominent figure in reality television, particularly known for his role in the popular series ‘Vanderpump Rules,’ has repeatedly exhibited behavior that is deeply concerning and offensive. His actions have not only disrespected individuals and communities, but they also perpetuate harmful stereotypes, bullying, and negativity that have no place in today’s progressive society. It is crucial that networks and producers take responsibility by disengaging from promoting such behavior,” the petition started.
It continued, “Over the years, Taylor has been involved in multiple controversies. He has been accused of making racist and homophobic remarks, problematic drug and alcohol abuse, as well as demonstrating a lack of respect for women. This kind of conduct sets a poor example for viewers and embodies values that are inconsistent with those of an inclusive and diverse media landscape.”
The Jax Taylor petition asks for his termination
The petitioner called on reality TV as a medium not to “entertain” viewers “at the expense of propriety and sensitivity.” Keeping Jax on The Valley “sends a message that offensive behavior can be tolerated.” It undermines all “the hard work many have done to promote respect and equality on and off the screen.”
NBCUniversal, Bravo TV, and producers are obviously the decision makers when it comes to such things. Jax has been a liability for years. But at the time of writing, none have currently responded.
“We call upon television networks to take a strong stand against this by firing Jax Taylor and ensuring future programming aligns with values of respect and integrity. By doing so, media influencers will understand that their words and actions have consequences, and a more respectful entertainment environment can begin to flourish,” the petition concluded.
Catch The Valley, Tuesdays at 8/7c on Bravo. The show streams on Hayu in the UK and Ireland.
