Welcome to the recap for Next Gen NYC Episode 6. Last week, Brooks had a misstep at work, which almost resulted in his mom giving him the boot from his job. And speaking of jobs, Riley’s mom reminded her she had six months left to find one. And preferably not as a DJ. Meanwhile, Charlie decided to go to war with Georgia because she returned his speakers late. On top of that, word got out he owed almost everyone in the group money. How would Charlie get out of his latest messes this time? Here’s exactly what went down in Next Gen NYC Episode 6: “Boardwalk of Shame.”
What happened in Next Gen NYC Episode 6?

Brooks’ birthday trip was a bust when things got heated between Charlie and the group. Georgia was not over him insulting her over returning his speakers late, and Riley was upset he dipped out on the $14,000 bill at The Box. Charlie steered clear of the group but did apologize to Georgia. Still, it wasn’t enough to save their friendship just yet. Meanwhile, Ariana’s mom stopped by to see her new place. And Ariana spilled some more tea about her family’s financial difficulties.
Kim paid Ariana a visit

It was the calm before the storm when the group met up for burgers. Georgia, Emira, Ariana, and their boyfriends were all stoked for Brooks’ upcoming birthday trip to the Jersey Shore. However, birthday planning was put on pause the minute Georgia filled them in on Charlie’s antics.
They were all shocked to learn Charlie had called Georgia “dirt poor” all because she had returned his speakers a week late. Georgia said, “The ridiculousness of someone using ‘you are poor’ as an argument when they get literally every single dollar from their parents.”
Hudson wasn’t surprised. He noted that Charlie had “slithered in and slithered out” once the bill had come the night they all went to The Box. Everyone agreed to save their pitchforks and torches for Charlie the second night of the trip. Because why ruin the first night when you can ruin the last?
Later on, Ariana’s mom, Real Housewives of Atlanta alum Kim Zolciak, paid her a visit. Ariana chirped to her dogs, “Grandma’s here!” Kim responded, “Grandma? F*ck off!”
In her confessional, Ariana spilled more tea about her parents allegedly taking her money. She said, “My dad told me and my sister, ‘You have no money.’ I was doing all these brand deals. I thought I was coming up in my life. But in reality I guess I wasn’t.”
Ariana admitted she was helping her mom so she could keep up with her bills. But Hudson was frustrated. He said about Kim, “She’s plenty capable of making her own money.”
Still, her mom was her bestie. So, Ariana wanted to take her out to lunch with Riley. Kim was down, just as long as her arch enemy, Riley’s mom, RHOA alum Kandi Burruss, was nowhere to be found.
Charlie’s not down for GTL

Brooks’ trip to Jersey was also top of mind for Charlie and Ava. And of course Charlie had commentary to share about the location. He eloquently said, “I never saw the Jersey Shore reality show. But I know that it’s a bunch of ugly chicks and ripped dudes beating each other up.”
Ava gave Charlie the bad news she wasn’t going to make the trip because of work. Charlie pouted that she had to come to support Brooks. But he really just wanted her there because he had no allies left. Even his bro Dylan had moved out.
After coming across some baby clothes, Charlie “joked” he and Ava should just have kids and get it over with. If there was any doubt that Charlie had feelings for Ava, that was now squashed.
Over in Little Italy, Ariana took her mom, Hudson, and Riley out for dinner. Charlie became the topic of conversation over some yummy pasta dishes. Ariana told her mom about how he stiffed them with a $14,000 bill at The Box. Kim almost fell back in her chair.
Riley said she had asked Charlie to put his card down, but he claimed he only used Apple Pay. Ariana added he pinned it on her man when he said that $4,000 was “nothing for Hudson.” Then Hudson confirmed they hadn’t seen him since.
Kim said, “Oh, that’s a surprise! $14,000 bill, and he disappeared. Shocker!” She noted he was probably onto his next victim, but Hudson was a good target because he was dripping in diamonds. Hudson said the real target was Ariana because Charlie had told Riley he liked her. Oop.
Kim warned, “Believe people for who they are when they show you the first time.”
Georgia picks a fight with Emira over mozzy sticks

Brooks packed for his trip and brought his … electric fly swatter? Might be good for fending off the sharks as well. He then hopped in the car with Charlie and Chloe to head off to the Jersey Shore.
Charlie decided to get in his side of the story of skipping the bill. So he pretended he was looking forward to seeing Ariana and Hudson. Charlie said, “Last saw Ariana weeks ago at The Box. And then he also got stuck with the bill because Riley was like, ‘Dylan, Charlie, get out; we don’t want your money.’”
In the other car, Riley said her mom was bewildered they had to pay for Charlie’s drinks. Riley said, “We got got.”
Georgia then tried to rally the troops against Charlie. And Charlie must have sensed it because he texted her at the same time to win her friendship back. But Georgia shut it down. She told Riley there was “nothing to salvage.”
Everyone was quite impressed with the house once they arrived. Gia decided to break the Real Housewives time honored tradition of people running around screaming for the best rooms, and instead calmly escorted everyone to their accommodations.
For some reason, Georgia then decided to pick a fight with Emira over “mozzy sticks.” Georgia said, “Ew,” when she saw them. Who doesn’t like mozzarella sticks?! And when Emira said she was hungry, Georgia responded, “The Ozempic is wearing off.” Emira gave her the death stare.
Emira said, “That is, like, so classless and tacky. I’m comfortable in my body. I’m hot as f*ck. I don’t need some like little b*tch telling me what the f*ck I should and should not be eating. Are you a doctor? Is it Georgia McCann, MD? I didn’t think so.”
Brooks needed some magic to make the drama disappear

The group headed out to the casino to have dinner for Brooks’ birthday. On their way, Gia decided to play therapist with Charlie. Why does everyone want to save this dude?
Gia asked if Charlie got tired of being the center of all the drama. Clearly the answer was no. Charlie answered, “When I’m that annoyed, I just leave.” Gia noted that was a “coward” move. She advised he address everyone head-on and tell them to “shut the f*ck up.” That’s some Real Housewives advice right there.
While Charlie dodged Gia’s questions, Brooks disengaged and had happy thoughts of crocheting to keep his mind off the drama. But the drama continued once they arrived.
Emira and Georgia abandoned their plan to confront Charlie on day two and instead pulled him aside at the casino. Georgia sighed, “He’s gonna be defensive, half apologize, and then probably come back in because he’s too stubborn to leave.”
Georgia and Charlie had a standoff with Georgia noting they were in the wild west. It was time for Charlie “The Kid” and “Calamity” Georgia to have their showdown. But before Georgia could pull the trigger, Charlie gave his usual empty apology.
Unsurprisingly, it didn’t work. Georgia went back to have dinner and was angry when the group was polite to Charlie. Chloe quickly grabbed the nearest magician on standby. But even he couldn’t make the drama disappear. Over the yelling, they played Brooks calm thoughts about starting casino-inspired athleisure wear the color of caviar. Sign me up!
