Jax Taylor has to live down what’s been caught on camera amid his separation from Brittany Cartwright. And if it wasn’t captured during filming, it’s been discussed in great length amongst The Valley cast members. The most volatile incident being throwing furniture in a jealous rage after he found out his estranged wife was sleeping with his friend.
Brittany was injured in the incident. And it was a pivotal moment in her decision to file for divorce in August 2024. Jax has had time to ponder his actions since then. These days, the Vanderpump Rules alum is claiming responsibility for the moment that changed his life forever. And he shared his recollections in a recent interview.
Jax Taylor regrets his response to Brittany Cartwright hooking up with his friend
Jax told Richard Taite, host of the We’re Out of Time podcast, is most concerned about how his four-year-old son Cruz with Brittany will come to learn about the incident in question. TMZ shared a clip from the interview. It’s the one thing the VPR villain would “go back and change” if he could.
“The way I handled it. It was anger, it was rage. It was the fact that I just couldn’t deal with it,” Jax explained.
“And again, the drugs and the alcohol, just I saw red. I just saw red and I saw nothing else. Again, how could this be happening to me. I’m Jax Taylor. The fact that it was my friend.”
Richard is an addiction and recovery specialist. And he asked Jax if perhaps he wasn’t “sleeping around too?”
“Not until I found that out. Listen, I did it too. But it wasn’t one of her friends. And as a guy, I brought this guy into my circle, he was my friend,” the VPR alum responded before admitting that he’s the most “mad at myself” for pushing Brittany away. But Jax has “made peace” with the situation.
Now, the focus is on co-parenting. Jax admitted that it’s “important for me to have her think highly of me.” Another is stay employed on The Valley, as calls to remove him for his volatile behavior grows.
“If I’m not working hard for her to care about me like she used to. Not to be in a relationship again. Not to be married again. But to care about me,” he explained.
“That’s my goal,” Jax concluded. “To be the person that she wants me to be.”
