Season 7 of Love Island USA may have ended, but the drama has not. Controversial Islander Huda Mustafa and Casa boy Chris Seeley gave viewers one of the cringiest final dates in the show’s history. The duo connected late in the season, but made it to the finale.
That is why Huda’s decision to dump Chris the night before the winner was announced surprised viewers. If anything, it looked like Chris might end the relationship. However, the awkward dinner date, on a platform in the water, was just plain … weird. Now, Huda and Chris are breaking down what happened during their memorable split.
What did Love Island USA viewers miss from Huda and Chris’ breakup?
At first, Chris and Huda’s connection was strong, and they had sex in the communal villa. However, after Huda complained when Chris wanted to sleep and not cuddle, it spelled doom for the couple.
After Huda ended the relationship, Chris walked away. When he returned, Huda asked if he was going to carry her again so she wouldn’t have to walk through the water. “I came back and I asked her why she was crying and [she explained]. I said, ‘OK, I clearly understand where you’re coming from, but it was your decision to make,'” Chris told US Weekly.
“She was basically giving me a choice, like, ‘Are you gonna carry me? Are you going to make me walk?’ It kind of just rubbed me the wrong way because, of course, I’m a gentleman,” he said. Clearly.
The pro basketball player added, “I tried to help her down, but if she wasn’t getting carried, then she didn’t want to be helped at all. That is why I walked away.”
However, Huda disagreed. “He did not want to do that,” she stated. “Let’s be real here. That man did not want [to carry me or help me].” Another reason for the split? “Chris would want me to shut up,” Huda explained. “I don’t like that.”
