Dancing with the Stars judge Derek Hough and his wife, Hayley Erbert, are sharing some special news. The couple is expecting their first baby! And you know that Baby Hough will have plenty of playmates in the DWTS ballroom.
The couple tied the knot in August 2023 in front of 106 guests. Their nuptials took place in Monterey County, California. “We’re in a redwood forest, but we got married right in front of this mother tree that’s surrounded by all these smaller trees,” Hayley said at the time. “We’re here, planting our seeds to grow our family.” Pass me a tissue, please.

The couple shared their announcement in a joint Instagram video. “We can’t believe the biggest thing to happen to us could be so small,” the dancing duo captioned the post. In the video, Derek walked up and embraced Hayley, who was wearing a white dress. They kissed and hugged, and Hayley held some sonogram photos over Derek’s shoulder. Later, you can see a hint of Hayley’s baby bump in the video.
Of course, the couple’s DWTS family went wild. Derek’s sister, and the host of the show, Julianne Hough, commented, “Baby Hough is so wise to choose you two [has] their parents – they are already so loved and protected! I love you both more than anything – Aunt JuJu is ready for whatever you need.” Derek’s bestie and former DWTS pro Mark Ballas wrote, “Baby Hough is not even ready for Uncle Mark, Auntie BC + Cousin Banksi play dates about to go TOO HARD,” along with fire and crying face emojis. “I’m SCREAMING!!!!! Ahhhh huge congrats, you two,” Witney Carson wrote.
As you may recall, Hayley suffered a life-threatening emergency in December 2023. She was diagnosed with a “cranial hematoma from a burst blood vessel and required an emergency craniectomy,” Derek said at the time. During Season 33, Hayley returned to the DWTS ballroom and danced a breathtaking routine with her husband..
