Reality TV isn’t the only thing Jax Taylor is walking away from this year. The Valley star just announced that he’s leaving the partnership with his bar, Jax’s Studio City. The sign came down over the weekend, leaving fans to speculate about its future. Now, the troubled reality star has shared why it’s time for him to step away.
Jax Taylor will focus on his “sobriety and mental health”

Jax’s Studio City opened back in October 2023. A few months later, he said things were going “very, very well.” The online reviews suggested otherwise, but Jax said they were planning on opening two new locations due to the bar’s success. A lot has changed since then.
Online chatter about the bar began when workers were spotted pulling Jax’s signage off the building. Sure enough, he confirmed he was stepping away from the establishment on July 26, 2025.
According to a statement from his reps, he made the decision to exit his partnership with the other owners. They called it “a carefully considered and necessary step to prioritize his sobriety and mental health.”
If you’ve been following Jax’s drama over the last month, this statement sounds almost identical to his exit statement from The Valley. He also claimed that departure was of his own volition, although some insiders said he was forced to quit.
Either way, Jax’s Studio City is the second bar from the Vanderpump Rules universe to close its doors in the last year. Tom Sandoval and Tom Schwartz’s bar, Schwartz & Sandy’s, closed its doors at the end of 2024. Scandoval played a legitimate factor in their downfall, and after the closure, Schwartz said his biggest takeaway from he experience was to never put his name on a bar. Jax might have just learned a similar lesson here.
The Valley airs on Tuesdays at 8/7c on Bravo. The show streams on Hayu in the UK and Ireland.
