The closing of Schwartz & Sandy’s was a case study in how behaving poorly on national television could cost you your business. Jax Taylor was notably worried about how his behavior on The Valley Season 2 would be received by the public. And he had every cause to be. Venues on his planned podcast tour pulled their support. The Valley viewers are shocked that Jax spied on his estranged wife, Brittany Cartwright through cameras in their family home, and rage texted her from rehab.
In the case of Tom Sandoval, the public boycotted his restaurant after he cheated on Ariana Madix. Now, it seems that Jax’s Studio City might be going down the same route. There are also calls for him to be fired from The Valley.
Should Jax Taylor be fired from The Valley?
The U.S Sun shared exclusive photographs of the lack of patrons at Jax’s establishment on a recent Friday evening.
“There is no buzz at Jax’s anymore, it’s pretty dead most nights,” one visitor stated. “Fans would often go to try and get a glimpse of him and Brittany but she’s barely there now, and people aren’t impressed by him at all.”
By contrast, “Rocco’s Tavern next door is a popular sports bar and it’s often packed with people spilling out into the street.”
The Vanderpump Rules alum opened the bar in October 2023. Brittany was an integral part of the process right up until opening day. As for Rocco’s Tavern, it shares a kitchen with Jax’s. As well as ownership.
The neighboring bar saw all the weekend traffic. Jax’s stood nearly empty by 11 pm. And the neglect is showing.
“Being a fan of the show, we went to check it out, but were surprised by how empty it was, and the staff didn’t seem too attentive,” one patron said.
Jax’s is getting very poor reviews
Online reviews are no more flattering. Bravo fan account @nosmokenomore shared some of the more blunt Yelp reviews. The caption read, “Holy s**t! The reviews for Jax and Brittany’s sports bar are so bad.”
“Came for the beer cheese and was really disappointed. This is just Rocco’s menu with meemaw’s chunky beer cheese added to it,” one review read.
“Even the to go boxes said Rocco’s so it’s obvious Jax doesn’t own this place. Don’t know what I expected but for the price I paid I expected the food to at least be edible,” wrote another.
A third read, “Jax is having to push his bar because of lack of customers. Flag for me was picnic tables, not a place to dress nicely & hang out. Food is ok, but nothing to write home about.”
“The beer cheese was disgusting. The ‘bar’ is just a covered tent in a backyard,” a fourth stated.
Jax previously explained that he had simply given his name to the bar. He did not invest in it. Rather, he was the investment. Though now it seems a poor choice.
