Primary charter guest Helen Hoey, alongside her friend, Kelly Furey, are currently making waves during their charter on Below Deck Season 12. Kelly, however, caused such a swell that she is now sleeping in a hotel, likely still wearing the pink bikini that she got tossed to the shore in. As for the very married Helen, she remains on board with her husband, Richard. However, Helen is now getting rather handsy with a certain deckhand. And their interactions have caused one of the biggest teased storylines of this season.
Now, we know that Helen and Kelly are friends. But we also know that many of the other charter guests in their group felt annoyed by Kelly. Therefore, when she exited filming, despite her protestations that she had connections with the FBI, her fellow travelers cared little. So, who are these two women, and what have they done to warrant our attention on Below Deck Season 12? I will tell you now.
Who is Below Deck Season 12 guest Helen Hoey?
Helen first came aboard during Below Deck Season 6, where Kate Chastain joked that she loved her so much, she wanted to be Helen for Halloween. Then (and now), the all-black clad Helen was a wonderfully chaotic guest, once asking the chef to watch her as she took her first bite. Then, Helen came back for Season 7, where her drunk friend required a visit from the nearby medics. And now, here we are yet again in Season 12, where Helen has once more brought an intoxicated mess maker onboard, but more on her in just a second.

Returning to Below Deck Season 12, Helen is currently causing quite the stir. While visiting a nude beach, Helen decided to go for a swim sans her bikini top. However, treading water like a normal person is for the weak, so Helen asked Kyle Stillie, her seemingly favorite deckhand, if he could hold her. Twice.
Both times, Kyle happily obliged. However, next week, Kyle will claim that he held Helen a little too closely, and whoops, his p*nis might have fallen into her person. Yet, he might have also been joking, like the trailer for this season teased. Consider us ready for next week.
Who is Below Deck Season 12 guest Kelly Furey?
Kelly did not last long on Below Deck Season 12, bless her heart. However, while she was here, we learned that Kelly enjoys yelling at Democrats, wearing pink lipstick, drinking liquor, and defying orders in her pink bikini, which is the only thing that I can now remember her wearing on this series. So, what does the internet say about who Kelly is?
Not much, sadly. However, on Instagram, travel, champagne, friends, and family consume her grid. These topics track, as Kelly became so inebriated while traveling with her friends that she got herself kicked off the vessel. And now, she is no longer appearing with Helen on Below Deck.
Poor Kelly. All she wanted to do was ride on the Banana Boat while drunk. However, safety concerns arose, foiling her plans as Captain Kerry Titheradge ordered her to stand down and ignore her innermost desires. Kelly, however, wanted what she wanted, promptly jumping in the water while taunting a deckhand to chase her.
Captain Kerry then called the police. In the next episode, Kelly willingly exited the yacht. On a positive note, while sorting through her social media pages, I found a recent post of Kelly hugging Captain Kerry, and in the comments, the Captain explained that all is well.
Who was the worst charter guest on Below Deck Season 12?
If you ask Hugo Ortega about Kelly, you will quickly learn that Kelly stressed him out. While appearing on Watch What Happens Live, Hugo emphasized that Kelly is “the worst charter guest” he has “ever had. I’ve never had someone get escorted off the yacht like that,” Hugo explained. In contrast, Helen is creating storylines left and right, but all of her antics are tame with a side of teets, for now, since we have yet to learn if Kyle was lying about their alleged tryst.
Comparatively, there was another charter group this season that acted poorly. But did any of these guests give Kelly a run for her money as the worst vacationer of this season? Well, this is a tricky comparison.
You see, that entire group behaved poorly. These guests came aboard ready to rumble. Before they even stepped on the yacht, they began ordering the crew around while shouting commands and quips using sarcasm that landed a little too well, making the crew members count down the days until their charter ended.
So, it truly is hard to say who takes the crappy cake here. That said, at least Kelly has since made amends with Captain Kerry. And for that, we give her credit.
