Season 18 of The Real Housewives of Orange County was a tough one for Shannon Beador. She was arrested for DUI and had to face her fellow RHOC cast members. If Shannon expected her buddy Tamra Judge to stand by her side, she was in for a rude awakening.
Instead, Tamra was annoyed that Shannon did not go to rehab. So, Tamra openly called her an “alcoholic.” She also made a habit of keeping count of Shannon’s cocktails. Plus, she shaded Shannon for “playing victim.” Naturally, all of Tamra’s actions and remarks made Shannon furious. Let’s just say it was a messy season for the duo.
RHOC’s Tamra Judge explained what really happened after Shannon Beador’s DUI
During an episode of The Viall Files podcast, Tamra gave us her thoughts about her relationship with Shannon. Buckle up. “What happened was, what a lot of people don’t know is that off-season, between her DUI, that season, I was shooting Traitors,” Tamra explained. “The day that I was going to the airport, I get the phone call from her that she had been arrested.” Tamra spoke to Shannon the day before, but she never mentioned her DUI.
“We were crying on the phone. I said, ‘This has gotta be devastating, but the good thing is, as a friend, you have a problem and this is a wake-up call,’” Tamra said. “I had that conversation with her and she took it well, I thought.”
Tamra continued, “Then I flew to Scotland, and I didn’t have a phone for however long I was gone. When I got back, I had heard from a mutual friend, ‘Shannon’s livid with you. How dare Tamra say that I’m an alcoholic, Gina [Kirschenheiter]’s an alcoholic, Taylor Armstrong’s an alcoholic…’” I guess Shannon wasn’t ready for that conversation.
“I’m done with this,” Tamra said. “She was exhausting to be friends with. Her life was always in shambles.”
