Kristen Doute and Luke Broderick welcomed their first child together, a daughter named Kaia Lily, in June 2025. The Valley second generation star’s mom has a bevy of famous friends that have been fawning over the newborn. But Scheana Shay has not yet met Kristen’s little one. And she explained why in a recent episode of her podcast.
Kristen shared her difficult and emotional fertility journey on Season 2 of The Valley. She and Luke found out they were expecting weeks after filming wrapped. The couple were overjoyed to welcome their daughter, and are putting wedding planning on hold to focus on parenthood.
Scheana Shay’s got a busy schedule
The My Good Side author admitted to “not” having met Kristen and Luke’s daughter on a recent episode of her Scheananigans with Scheana Shay podcast. Scheana also said that it would be unlikely she would meet Kaia soon due to her hectic schedule. She is, after all, touring to promote her New York Times Best Seller.
“She sent me a photo, but I have not met her yet. I also want to make sure I’m completely germ free before I would even let myself,” the Vanderpump Rules alum said.
Indeed, Kristen has very strict rules in place regarding visits with Kaia. The James Mae designer posted the health parameters on Threads. She wrote, “Don’t kiss my baby; don’t touch her face. If you were out of town, at a party, have even a TICKLE in your throat — don’t come over; get that TDAP shot, baby!”
Scheana notably also missed Kristen’s baby shower. However, her mother explained her absence in an Instagram post. She wrote, “Scheana was at Stagecoach and her and Kristen are great, so don’t try to stir the pot. When you have a work obligation, it takes priority. Mind your business.”
