Season 7 of Love Island USA leveled up in every way. Vanderpump Rules alum Ariana Madix returned, showcasing her hosting chops. The way that she interacts with the Islanders and the Bombshells sets her apart as the hostess with the most. And now, with the Season 7 reunion fast approaching, Ariana is sharing hosting duties with Bravo icon Andy Cohen.
Let’s face it. There is a ton to unpack from this season. We have one toxic couple in Huda Mustafa and Jeremiah Brown. Of course, prior racist social media posts led to the removal of both Yulissa Escobar and Cierra Ortega from the villa. There is no way on earth that the Islanders won’t have a chance to speak on it.
Plus, fans want to know the status of fan-favorite couples, like winners Amaya Espinal and Bryan Arenales. And viewers were heavily invested in the romance between Nic Vansteenberghe and Olandria Carthen, even before the couple knew they were attracted to one another. Why Andy Cohen makes a great host for the Love Island USA Reunion
Is there anyone more experienced at hosting reunions than Andy? He hosts all the Bravo sit-downs, as well as The Traitors’ reunions for Peacock. He never shies away from uncomfortable or NSFW questions. Even when you pray that he will.
Plus, Andy will hold a cast member’s feet to the fire with zero regrets. In addition, he has been pushed like a rag doll at a Real Housewives of New Jersey reunion by Teresa Giudice. And Andy has screamed like a banshee at Bravo cast members to restore order. He has been there, and done that.
However, this time, Andy is coming in as a Love Island USA fan. “So, now I’m coming in cold to Love Island just as a fan, which by the way, talk about being able to live your fantasy,” Andy previously stated. And he certainly enjoyed working with Ariana. “Co-hosting with her was really fun, and we really found a great rhythm. I’ve never co-hosted anything except New Year’s Eve with Anderson [Cooper], but we really got into a really good rhythm, and I just loved working with her,” Andy added.
Of course, Ariana and Andy being at a reunion together had a different dynamic this time. Before, Ariana was in the hot seat while Andy hosted the Pump Rules reunions. Now, Ariana is Andy’s co-host. My, how times have changed!
In addition, the duo has a good relationship, as shown by Andy’s support and excitement about Ariana’s career milestones. Meanwhile, Ariana has the unique advantage of knowing what it is like being seated on a reunion couch as a cast member, and now as a host. She realizes exactly what the Love Islanders are going through.
Ariana Madix will make an excellent partner for Cohen because of their great dynamic
After Ariana hosted the Season 6 Love Island reunion, she voiced her appreciation for all of Andy’s accomplishments. When she asked him for advice, he told her to put her “stamp on it.” The former VPR star stated, “Obviously, he’s done so many reunions. He’s literally, like, the king of it! So it was really amazing to be able to get some advice from him before doing it,” Ariana added.
While most viewers felt that Ariana crushed hosting her first reunion, some fans felt that she didn’t hit the contestants with tough questions. However, I thought that she remained impartial, asked interesting questions, and was able to show off her charm and wit. Not an easy task.
Since Ariana hosted Season 7 of Love Island, having her interact with the Islanders at the reunion is a huge bonus. Plus, she knows all the inside gossip. So, having her host the reunion is literally a no-brainer.
It would be strange and awkward to have Andy hosting alone since he wasn’t a part of the show. I think Love Island USA is different than The Traitors. These contestants aren’t reality stars. The Islanders need someone who lived through the Fiji experience with them to get them to spill all the tea.
The dynamic between Ariana and Andy will be interesting for Pump Rules fans. We will see the twosome working together for the first time, so it will be fascinating to watch Ariana interact with Andy in that capacity. I have a feeling that Ariana will level up as she works alongside Bravo’s reunion superstar.
