Emily Simpson may not be a practicing attorney these days, but the Real Housewives of Orange County star is fully immersed in the profession. Now, she is taking on the role of podcast host, alongside her husband, and fellow attorney, Shane Simpson.
The legal-loving duo will speak on, and dissect cases. Emily promises that it’s done in an “entertaining way.” RHOC fans became invested in Shane’s struggle to pass the bar exam. After several failed attempts, he passed in 2021. Just in time to be peak interest for Season 16 of the original Real Housewives franchise. Will it be enough of a draw to attract her RHOC followers to the weekly podcast titled Legally Brunette?
Emily Simpson loves doing her “legal podcast”
Emily shared the details of her new project to Bravo’s The Daily Dish. She said, “I love doing a legal podcast because it gives me the ability to still feel like I’m in that world cause I do so much research for it.”
The RHOC favorite continued, “And so, it allows me to research cases and read about things and come up with a plan of what we’re gonna talk about, so I really enjoy it. I feel like I get to be a nerd, like a law nerd again. And then do it in an entertaining way, cause it’s done really well.”
Fan curiosity surprised Emily, who herself is retired from practicing law, though she still considers herself the “better attorney.”
“To me, it wasn’t that interesting. Just because I’ve been through law school and done all that. People get really invested in their lives, and it makes sense that they were invested in him and the bar and all of that,” she explained.
Emily revealed that she is still working with California’s The Innocence Project. The organization is dedicated to aiding those who have been wrongly convicted.
“I work with them, just doing a lot of fundraising. There’s something that comes up later in the season with the Innocence Project, which is great. They have some things going on. They’ve reached out and want me to do some things with a legal podcast, so I’m hoping that maybe we can do something together. So, yeah, always in constant contact,” the mother-of-three said.
