Erika Jayne and Teddi Mellencamp aren’t shy about their thoughts on the recent lie detector tests on Real Housewives of Orange County. While the ladies in the show used the results of the polygraphs to go after one another, the truth is these tests aren’t always accurate. Erika and Teddi pointed out even more reasons to doubt the results.
The tension has been bubbling over in the recent episodes of RHOC. Gretchen Rossi and Tamra Judge kept fighting with each other, Gretchen and Gina Kirschenheiter felt pissed at Katie Ginella, and Gina wanted to take action. Fast forward to Emily Simpson’s party and the polygraph tests. After that, everything blew up.

After the lie detector test, things proceeded to go downhill really fast. Katie is taking a pause on RHOC. Tamra says doctors diagnosed her with severe depression. And Gretchen said she feels like an idiot. But should they put that much stock in the results? Teddie and Erika don’t think so.
On their podcast, Two T’s in a Pod, the ladies talked about their skepticism about the lie detector tests. Erika shared that Gretchen passed her answer of “No” to the question of whether she told Katie and Jennifer (Pedranti) that she was drugged.
“How is that possible?!” Teddi cried. “This is where I am struggling!” And Erika agreed. The two went over several questionable responses that Katie failed, yet somehow Gretchen passed despite flashbacks showing the truth to be the opposite.
Teddi and Erika also dislike that people keep using the same lie detector team. “I didn’t like that the lie detector test was the same guy who did the Vanderpump lie detector test,” Erika said.
Teddi added, “I was like, if it’s the same company over and over, like what are we doing? Is this the only guy we can get? And also, Gina saying to Gretchen ‘There’s a plan’ makes it seem like the lie detector people were given specific instructions.”
Erika agreed, saying, “Oh, I’m sure.”
Some fans on Reddit also previously called out the lie detector team as being shady.
Erika did touch on something funny from the test. “Heather (Dubrow) passed hers on if she preferred to be a Housewife of Beverly Hills, come on by!” Erika said.
