The deck team on Below Deck Mediterranean Season 10 is barely treading water. We are only one episode in on this new season. Yet, so many things have already gone wrong for this rather green squad. One of their problems was not their fault, to be fair. But the rest, well…
One question remains. Will the deck team make it through Season 10 intact? Or, will Captain Sandy Yawn have to step in and send certain crew members home early? Well, when Reality Tea recently asked her this question, Captain Sandy declined to answer. But she did note that this season will be a tough one for her bosun.
Turns out, Captain Sandy wasn’t kidding. Here’s everything that’s already happened.
Below Deck Med is back for a new season in 2025, but the deck team is floundering
Nathan Gallagher has returned to the deck team for Season 10. However, this year, he came back as the bosun. This promotion means that all of the problems on this team are now riding on his shoulders. Sadly, we can already see Nathan buckling under the weight of this responsibility.
Before this new charter season even started, Nathan and one of his team members, Tessa Budd, came down with a nasty bout of food poisoning. This wasn’t their fault, but their absence from the boat during the first day of turnarounds was felt.
Once they came on board, Nathan and Tessa acclimated themselves to the yacht and the rest of their team. But when it came time to bring the yacht off the dock, the realization started to sink in. This team is in trouble. And now, all eyes are on the deck team as Below Deck Med Season 10 progresses.
Tessa fumbled the first unmooring

The first charter group arrived after Nathan and Tessa finally boarded in Episode 1. Nathan set to work, assigning his team members to various tasks for their first unmooring. But as soon as the lines and ropes were in, Tessa let Nathan know that their extendable ramp, which they use during dockings, appeared to be stuck. So, Nathan asked Tessa to speak with one of their engineers.
Using a public line on their walkie-talkies, Tessa reached out to one of the engineers, which earned her a light scolding from Nathan. In his talking head, Nathan said, “I’m too focused on getting off the dock and doing my job safely. I can’t hold their hands. I can see already, this team’s not capable of giving 100 percent.”
During this incident, his mic pack also picked up audio of Nathan labeling their first departure as a “f*cking nightmare.”
Tessa and Christian struggled with the nautibuoys

Once the yacht finally got underway, the guests settled in for their first lunch. When the yacht reached its destination, it was time for the water toys to go out. So, down below, deckhands Christian Trimino and Tessa brought out the nautibuoys. For those not in the know, nautibuoys are inflatable platforms that everyone walks out on while accessing a ship’s water toys during anchoring.
An hour and a half later, Christian and Tessa were still fighting with these platforms. As their annoyed guests looked on, the deckhands started complaining about their bosun, who allegedly gave them an order without teaching them how to fulfill it. As Nathan noted, “It’s an absolute disgrace. It’s embarrassing.”
A jet ski floated away into the ocean

Thankfully, the water toys eventually went out, which the guests appreciated. Following their time spent in the ocean, they came inside for dinner. Nathan, therefore, called in his team to bring in all of their floats and toys. But as Christian admitted, he was unfamiliar with specific pieces of equipment that Nathan kept referencing, since he’d “never used” them before.
As cameras captured Nathan starting to seethe over Christian’s lack of skills, he noticed “the f–king jetskis floating away” into the sea. Thinking quickly, Max Salvador launched his French abs into the ocean to swim after it. “I don’t know what they’re doing, to be honest. One guy’s swimming,” one of their watching charter guests quipped.
Christian thankfully owned his mistake, admitting that he did not “properly” tie the knot to secure the wave runner. Nevertheless, Captain Sandy pulled Nathan aside, letting him know that he needed to fix things “fast.”
Even with Captain Sandy at his side, Nathan crashed a jet ski into a light fixture
In his interview, Nathan said, “As a deckhand, I was in charge of doing one job and moving on to the next. Don’t get me wrong, I was good at [those] jobs. But now, as a bosun, I’m in charge of all the jobs, [and it] is overwhelming the f*ckin’ sh*t out of me.”
Sadly, his problems continued. Following dinner service, Nathan began hoisting the wave runner back onto the yacht. Captain Sandy came up to help him while he operated the mechanical lift. But even still, Nathan slammed the ski into two light fixtures attached to the yacht as various charter guests watched on in horror.
“We gotta talk about this,” Captain Sandy sternly said, speaking to Nathan. But unfortunately, as the trailer for Below Deck Med Season 10 proves, this rough start is only the beginning of the deck team’s troubles.
Below Deck Mediterranean is streaming on Peacock. It streams on Hayu in the UK and Ireland.
