The Real Housewives of Potomac are back! Season 10 is promising viewers some friendships wilting on the vine and some fiery drama. And, finally, Ashley Darby is single on the show! Her divorce from Michael Darby was finally settled in February 2025.
In April 2022, the former couple separated. They had been married for eight years, but it clearly wasn’t all bliss. There were repeated rumors about Michael stepping out on his wife. During their marriage, Ashley and Michael welcomed two sons. Now, Ashley is reflecting on their three-year divorce saga and what it feels like to have it in the rearview.
RHOP’s Ashley Darby says her divorce from Michael Darby “was fair”
During the Season 10 RHOP premiere, Ashley threw herself a Second Bloom Ball to celebrate her new chapter. And it was as extra and over-the-top as Ashley. No word on whether Michael is planning a Third Bloom Ball for himself.
Recently, Ashley spoke about all the changes in her life. “It’s actually amazing that I’m taking on this next chapter of life with so much more confidence. Before I was separated, I just didn’t know what life on this side was gonna look like, and I was so scared,” Ashley told Entertainment Tonight. “I was like, ‘Am I ready for this? Am I making a mistake? Are my kids gonna be OK?'” The singer noted that “those what-ifs, they kept me up at night.” She added, “But now your girl is sleeping peacefully.” Amen to that!
As for what the divorce itself was like? “My divorce lawyer, Maria [Simon] – shoutout to Maria, she’s amazing – she did say that a sign of a good divorce is that nobody is happy,” Ashley explained. “So neither of us were super happy. It was fair.”
It sounds like, in the end, Ashley received a better settlement than she initially expected.
