Mýa has opened up about her Lady Marmalade soul sistas, commenting on long-standing “catfight” rumors.
Decades (yes, decades!) on from the release of the iconic song and music video, Mýa reflected on her time recording with Christina Aguilera, Pink, and Lil’ Kim.

“I personally never witnessed any catfights, nothing,” Mýa told PEOPLE, shutting down claims that there was tension between the Lady Marmalade singers.
“Whatever was supposedly going on, I had no eyes,” she went on. “I had no ears to even have a clue — that’s if it existed at all.”
“We all got it done,” she continued of the track, which was featured in Baz Luhrmann’s 2001 Moulin Rouge movie. “It was good vibes,” Mýa went on. “We kind of goofed around in rehearsals.”
To recap, since its 2001 release, there have been lingering rumors that Christina and Pink clashed on the set of Lady Marmalade. Pink previously said (to PEOPLE) it was her “least favorite” music video due to “some annoying things happening”. However, she said in a 2023 Instagram post that there was resolution in her friendship with Christina.
Christina has similarly refuted rumors of a rift with Pink. “There was no drama whatsoever when all of us were on that stage together,” she told Cosmopolitan in 2021. “We just all got into our zones, our own zones, our own place as artists. We were all super professional. I think the overall goal was to go big or go home.”
Elsewhere in her interview, Mýa shared one of her most treasured memories from the Lady Marmalade set. After heading to a Mexican restaurant, she said the group “hung out” and got to know each other. “It was fun to get that one-on-one personal time outside of just work,” she recalled. “I really remember and cherish that moment.”
