Season 34 of Dancing with the Stars has been fantastic so far. Whitney Leavitt and Jen Affleck of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives are showing off their moves in the ballroom. And these MomTok members have impressed the judges and the audience.
However, both of these Mormon moms have young children. So, juggling a hectic DWTS schedule with their families has been a real issue. Yet, Jen and Whitney have continued to give their all in the ballroom. How do these ladies make it work while dealing with the pressures of the competition? It hasn’t been easy.
Whitney Leavitt and Jen Affleck have more on their minds than dance steps…

Both Jen and Whitney opened up about mom guilt amid the DWTS competition. “Oh, my gosh, yes!” Whitney told US Weekly. “There’s so much [mom guilt]. But I have so much support from my husband at home that helps me be able to do this.” She added, “I’m very grateful.” Whitney and her husband, Conner Leavitt, share three children: sons Liam and Billy, and daughter, Sedona.
As for her motivation for joining the Season 34 DWTS cast? Her kids. “I just want them to believe that they can do anything that they put their mind to,” Whitney said. However, there has been some controversy about Whitney’s extensive dance background.
Meanwhile, Jen, who is married to Zac Affleck, admitted that she also feels mom guilt. “It is the realest thing. Whether I was doing Dancing With the Stars or not, mom guilt would still be there,” Jen told US Weekly. “That’s definitely a sign you’re a good mom because you’re trying your best, and you want to be better every single day – for them, for yourself, for everyone.”
Jen and Zac share daughters Nora and Penny and a son, Liam. The influencer gave birth to Penny in July and credits DWTS with helping her with her postpartum journey.
Dancing with the Stars airs on Tuesdays at 8 p.m. on ABC and Disney+. It will stream on Hulu the next day.
