The Osefos have spoken! After being arrested and charged with multiple counts of fraud, Dr. Wendy Osefo and Eddie Osefo from The Real Housewives of Potomac have released a statement. They’re out of jail, and they said they’re ready to fight their case in court.

In case you missed it, Wendy and Eddie faced indictments for insurance fraud, conspiracy to commit insurance fraud, and making a false statement to a police officer. The allegations go back to their 2024 home burglary. They claimed thieves ransacked their home while they vacationed in Jamaica.
Court documents show that the pair filed false insurance claims with multiple companies, alleging that the burglars stole dozens of luxury items. Detectives uncovered no evidence of a home invasion, and they later discovered that some of the items were still in the family’s possession. One example they cited was Wendy’s wedding ring. She and Eddie reported it stolen, but detectives spotted her wearing it on her finger in an Instagram post.
Authorities booked the couple on October 10, with bail set for $50,000. They’ve been released and have an initial hearing scheduled for November 7. In a statement, they said they want privacy as they prepare their defense.
“Dr. Wendy Osefo and her husband, Edward Osefo, are back home safely with their family and in good spirits. They are grateful for the outpouring of concern and support from friends, fans and colleagues,” a representative told Us Weekly.
“The Osefos, alongside their legal team, look forward to their day in court,” the statement continued. “At this time, they respectfully ask for privacy as they focus on their family and the legal process ahead.”
