The famous country singer Shane McAnally is expecting his third child with his husband, Michael Baum. The 51-year-old songwriter is expecting his third child through surrogacy and reportedly mentioned that he doesn’t let “the rules” control his life or career. McAnally married Baum in 2017, and the couple is blessed with twins, Dylan and Dash.
The same-sex couple already have twins, and are now expecting a new child via surrogate
Shane and Michael, who tied the knot in 2017 in Nashville, Tennessee, are excited for their third child (via a surrogate). The “Take Your Time” songwriter talked with PEOPLE about society’s rules and how he stopped letting those rules have an impact on his life. Speaking candidly, he said, “I know things are changing all the time. And of course, since ours is a nontraditional family anyway, we don’t feel like those rules apply.”
Apparently, he stopped giving much importance to society’s conventions long ago. And this began with his song, “Somewhere With You,” recorded by Kenny Chesney. The blockbuster song had an unconventional lyrical theme and was a revolution in country music. The 2010 song became a major hit and is still loved by people.
For the couple, there’s a reason for welcoming a third child. Since the couple has now settled in Santa Barbara, a place known for its peaceful escape from reality, they decided to expand their family.
McAnally said, “We have really nested. Our kids have found an incredible rhythm here. It’s just been a really good thing for our family.” He continued, “Michael always says, ‘Things grow here,’ and so we just wanted to expand the love. I’ve wanted to have another baby a lot through the years.”
Moreover, speaking about surrogacy, the actor said that he trusts the universe’s way of doing things. He further mentioned that it felt like “it was meant to be and it was all green lights” by the universe.
