RHOA’s Shamea Morton Entering Her ‘Villain Era’ for Season 17

Everyone loves a good Housewives villain, and Real Housewives of Atlanta star Shamea Morton may be grabbing that role. She already started in Season 16, and it looks like she may be continuing in Season 17 despite wanting a fresh start. It looks like the feuding won’t be gone any time soon. As Shamea says, “she’s sitting on business.”

Is Shamea Morton about to become the villain on RHOA Season 17?

Who doesn’t love a good Housewives villain? During RHOA Season 16, everyone noticed that Shamea was feuding with pretty much everyone. Her lifelong friendship with Porsha Williams blew up in front of cameras, and she also argued a lot with Brit Eady and with Drew Sidora on Porsha’s behalf.

She appeared to want to make amends and start fresh after the Season 16 reunion, but it looks like that may not be happening any time soon. At BravoCon 2025, when asked about the new season, Shamea said she was pretty much still in her so-called villain era.

“We just wrapped filming Season 17,” Entertainment Tonight asked Shamea and Kelli Ferrell. “How are we feeling?”

The girls laughed before Shamea said, “Just when I thought 16 was the worst, 17 came.” She added, “And some would say I’m in my villain era … but …I think I’m just living in my truth,”

She expounded on that further by saying, “And I’m … sitting on business. I don’t know if I’m standing on it yet, but I’m sitting on it.” And she looked pretty fab channeling villainess style in a sleek and shiny blue dress, elbow-length gloves, and a matching hat.

When asked if she and Porsha were in a friendship or a friend-sink at this point, Shamea answered truthfully. “I don’t think we’re in a friendship,” she said. “I think I am in a space where I just want the best for Porsha, and I wish her well. And that’s just where I am with it. I am in a season of matching energy. You give me good energy, I will reciprocate.”

“So you’re in your congenial villain era?” the interviewer asked. The two girls just laughed.

It looks like we have a lot to look forward to in Season 17.

The Real Housewives of Atlanta is available to stream on Peacock.
