There’s a new mugshot to add to the collection. Real Housewives of Potomac alum Mia Thornton landed in jail last night after allegedly making off with $11,000 worth of furniture from a condo she was renting. It all went down in Atlanta, where Mia relocated after leaving RHOP. She said she wanted to start a new chapter down there, but this is definitely not what we had in mind.
Mia Thornton was arrested on accusations of stealing furniture
FOX 5 Atlanta first got the scoop on Mia’s arrest. According to a police report reviewed by the outlet, the drama started when Mia moved out of a rental condo on October 28 in the middle of the night without notice. Allegedly, a man named Jared McGriff helped her. That name might not ring a bell at first, but we know him as her longtime bestie and on-again, off-again boyfriend, Inc.
The management company for the condo called the cops, claiming that Mia and Inc had walked off with a television and a bunch of other furniture pieces from the rental. The total cost of the stolen furniture is estimated to be around $11,000, and honestly? We’re impressed that they could move that much furniture by themselves.
Body cam footage shows the moment cops arrested Mia at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. She cried as the cops put her into handcuffs. She probably cried even harder when she found out they were charging her with felony larceny.
It’s unclear what happened to the furniture and the TV. Did they sell it? Is it sitting in a storage unit somewhere? Those questions will come out later. In the meantime, RHOP fans are sitting in disbelief that a third cast member has now ended up behind bars.
The Real Housewives of Potomac airs on Sundays at 8/7c on Bravo, and you can stream it the next day on Peacock.
