RHONJ’s Dolores Catania Reveals ‘Mistake’ She Made Before Home Invasion

Dolores Catania and her fiancé, Paul Connell, recently experienced a terrifying life event. Roughly two months ago, crooks broke into their house. After this incident, these Real Housewives of New Jersey stars realized that they had made a critical error online. And now, Dolores has a word of caution to lend.

RHONJ has opened many doors for Dolores. She has since snagged many lucrative roles. And soon, she will also appear in another new series, The Real Housewives of Rhode Island. Her role here will be minimal, but for anyone watching her star rise, one thing is clear: Dolores is seemingly making bank, and this now makes her a target for lurking criminals online.

Recently, Dolores chatted with OK! When asked about their recent break-in, Dolores admitted that their “botched robbery” took place after she and Paulie “posted that we were not home.” As she realizes, “That was our mistake. People looked at our Instagram and decided it was a good day to break in.”

Now, Dolores urges everyone to “lock your doors” and “don’t post in real time.” Or, as she joked, get a “good pit bull” to deter any would-be crooks. Overall, Dolores feels “Dumb that I posted we weren’t home.” But she also feels “lucky that nothing happened.”

As Dolores first described, the burglars “came in with a blowtorch. They broke the window [by heating] it.” As for why, they hoped to shatter the window “without setting off the alarm.” But thankfully, off their alarm still went.

The thieves then ran away empty-handed, right before the police arrived. So, don’t be like Doloroes. Instead, post up after your travels end.

The Real Housewives of New Jersey is streaming on Peacock.
