Witney Carson Reveals Robert Irwin Injury Ahead of DWTS Finale

The Season 34 finale of Dancing with the Stars is upon us, and one of the competitors has an injury. Robert Irwin is dancing for Mirrorball glory with his partner, Witney Carson, while nursing an injury. They are competing against influencer Alix Earle and Vla Chmerkovkiy, Dylan Efron and Daniella Karagach, Olympian Jordan Chiles and her partner, Ezra Sosa, and actress Elaine Hendrix and Alan Bersten.

Unfortunately, this isn’t the first mishap to befall Robert and Witney during finale rehearsals. While rehearsing for their freestyle, Witney lost a chunk of her real hair. Now that is dedication.

Robert, who has been a fan-favorite, has suffered a setback. In a TikTok, Witney revealed what has been going on behind the scenes. “Today at [camera] blocking is a little stressful … Robert’s ribs have been killing him,” Witney explained. She noted that “more will be revealed” during the finale. “You guys can get a better idea of what we’ve been dealing with all week,” she added.

Witney added that she had to “change some things” in their freestyle routine to keep Robert safe. “It’s just honestly the most stressful part because this is just getting it all together, and it’s gonna take some time,” she continued. “We’re gonna have to run it a lot and just make sure everything is coming together for Tuesday,” Witney said. “It’s literally tomorrow – what the heck.”

She continued, “Knowing Robert, he’s going to want to rehearse until the very last second,” she said. Taking a moment to reflect, Witney said, “This entire season just feels like the biggest gift. I’m just so thankful.”

However, Robert isn’t the first person to experience a rib injury this season. Elaine injured her rib and was unable to perform during Halloween Week.

The Dancing with the Stars Season 34 finale will air on Tuesday, November 25, at 8 p.m. on ABC and Disney+. It will stream on Hulu the next day.
