Rachel Zoe is making her triumphant reality TV return after more than a decade. The celebrity stylist and fashion mogul is joining the ladies of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills on Bravo, and everyone is looking forward to seeing her again. The new season premieres on December 4 and will showcase Rachel in a new phase of life.
Rachel Zoe wants to “share the reality of my life” with RHOBH viewers
“I feel different on every level,” Rachel told PEOPLE about her life now and her time on reality TV. “I’m very honest about where I am and what I am dealing with on (RHOBH). I think my goal is really to share the reality of my life. And everyone’s going through stuff, right?”
During the new season of RHOBH, fans will see Rachel navigating life post-split from her husband of 26 years, Rodger Berman. The couple filed for divorce in July, 10 months after they separated.
“I’m trying to help as many women as possible,” Rachel explained. “I mean, probably at least 30% of the women in my life are going through a separation or a divorce. The question I kept getting asked is: ‘Why am I so okay coming out of a relationship that really transcended my entire adult life?’ It’s because I’m independent – financially, professionally, and socially. I think there isn’t enough emphasis put on the importance of that.”
“No matter what life throws at you, you have to be able to stand on your own,” Rachel shared. She’s also strong for her boys. Her sons played a major role in her decision to step away from reality TV. They were also part of the reason she and Rodger split.
“I think that having two parents that love them is more important than having two parents together that maybe shouldn’t be together anymore,” she said. She also made sure to talk to her boys before signing on for RHOBH. They told her she should do it.
So Rachel’s keeping things authentic on the show. She’s not the only Housewife navigating a separation. Kyle Richards and Mauricio Umansky are now separated, and Dorit Kemsley and PK Kemsley are getting a divorce. Things can get pretty messy for everyone, as revealed in the RHOBH Season 15 trailer.
