Real Housewives of Beverly Hills stars Kyle Richards and Mauricio Umansky announced their separation in 2023. They have not yet filed for divorce. Nevertheless, their four daughters have still felt the heavy weight of their split. As Kyle recently explained, their “struggle” was sadly very, very real.
Mauricio and Kyle’s daughters have “come so far since the separation”

Separations are never easy. So, Kyle and Mauricio tried to shield and support their children through this life-changing event as best as they could. But as Kyle recently admitted via the RHOBH After Show, their daughters still struggled nonetheless.
“They’ve come so far since the separation,” Kyle stressed. But at first, “They really did struggle,” she admitted. Many people might think this strange, since their children are all mostly grown and living their best lives outside of their formerly shared mansion. Yet, as Kyle noted, their ages meant nada during this incredibly tough time.
“I feel like some people don’t understand that just because they’re not little, they didn’t struggle,” Kyle said. She added, “I think that sometimes the littler you are and the younger you are and the more in the dark you are about things, it could be even easier.” Regardless, “My girls really did go through a hard time — depression and adjusting to this new life. I have to say, they’ve come very far.”
Kyle’s separation from their father did have one silver lining, however. These days, she and her girls have never been tighter.
“We are such a tight-knit family anyway — all of us,” Kyle stated. But now, “Our relationship has taken a different … I don’t know. It’s gone to a deeper level, especially as they’re getting older, too. We’re, like, best friends. We have so much fun together. We share more than we used to, across the board … It’s been really great in a lot of ways, too, even though it’s been really difficult.”
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills airs on Thursdays at 8/7c on Bravo. It streams on Peacock.
